Billy Maximoff did not survive in the original body Wanda created inside the Westview Hex. In Agatha All Along, the MCU explains that Billy’s soul entered William Kaplan’s body when William died in a car crash during the Hex’s collapse. Billy returned as a teenager with a different body and identity.
What happened to Billy when Wanda ended the Hex?
Wanda created Billy and Tommy inside the Westview Hex using her reality-altering magic. When she removed the Hex at the end of WandaVision, the twins and the Hex-created Vision dissolved with it. The boys’ original bodies did not simply remain alive outside Wanda’s reality. (Los Angeles Times)

How did Billy return?
Agatha All Along supplies the missing event in episode 6. During a flashback to Eastview, William Kaplan is celebrating his bar mitzvah. As he and his parents flee the potential fallout from the Hex’s collapse, their car crashes. William dies, and Billy Maximoff’s soul moves into William’s body. (TheWrap)
That distinction resolves the apparent contradiction: the Hex-created child body disappears, but Billy’s soul continues in a different body. The series presents this as an event tied to William’s death, not as the original Hex remaining active. Showrunner Jac Schaeffer described the story’s layered continuity by saying, “in this corner of the MCU, in the ‘WandaVision’ universe, we are not linear (laughs).” (TheWrap)
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWho is Teen, and what does Billy remember?
Joe Locke plays the teenager first known as Teen. Agatha All Along reveals that he is Billy Maximoff, returned in William Kaplan’s body. Locke said Billy has no memories of William’s life; instead, he has a sense of Billy Maximoff’s experiences and gradually pieces together his past. (TheWrap)
Locke described that distinction this way: “We always said that he doesn’t have any memory of anything to do with William Kaplan’s life, and it’s more like he has a sense of what happened in ‘WandaVision’ and Billy Maximoff’s life.” This is not a simple blend in which Billy remembers living William’s childhood. How does the MCU explanation differ from the comics?
The MCU’s on-screen account is Billy’s soul moving into William Kaplan’s body after William dies. The Los Angeles Times describes the comics’ history differently: Billy Kaplan and Tommy Shepherd eventually learn they are reincarnations of Wanda and Vision’s twins. The comics context may be related, but it is not a replacement for the specific explanation Agatha All Along gives for Billy’s return in the MCU. (Los Angeles Times)
Does Billy find Tommy or reunite with Wanda?
At the end of Agatha All Along, Billy’s stated next goal is to find his twin brother Tommy, and he is accompanied by Agatha’s ghost. The finale coverage establishes a search, not a reunion with Tommy or Wanda. (TheWrap)
