Spoiler warning: This guide covers the Friday, April 11, 2025, NYT Connections puzzle, game #670. Start with the hints and stop before the answer section if you want to preserve the solve.
Hints for Connections #670
Each hint points toward a group of four without giving away its category label.
- One group consists of things associated with getting vitamins.
- One group uses words that can finish the names of retail places.
- One group points to places or things where you might see stars.
- One group consists of words that can follow “go.”
How to approach the board
Connections asks you to sort 16 words into four groups of four based on a shared theme. The groups are color-coded from yellow, the easiest, through green and blue to purple, the trickiest. The New York Times Help Center describes the game as one that asks players to find themes between words; it also notes that words can seem to fit more than one category, even though each puzzle has one solution. The New York Times Help Center says editors curate the words and categories using the Oxford Dictionary.
For this board, beware of a tempting overlap among KART, GALAXY, SUNSHINE, and WORLD: they can evoke Mario game titles, but they do not form one of the accepted groups. TechRadar guide author Johnny Dee reported falling for that misdirection while solving this puzzle; it is one solver’s reaction, not a measure of how players generally perform.

Why the groups fit
Yellow: SOURCES OF VITAMINS
CITRUS and LEAFY GREENS are foods, SUPPLEMENTS are a direct source, and SUNSHINE connects to vitamin D production. This is the puzzle’s category logic, not advice about diet or vitamin intake.
Green: PLACES USED IN RETAIL SUFFIXES
CITY, LAND, TOWN, and WORLD can each appear at the end of a retail place or brand name.

The New York Times Help Center says the daily puzzle releases at midnight in the player’s timezone. Connections is available on the NYT Games website and Games app, as well as the News app and nytimes.com/theathletic; the Help Center says it is free to play on all those platforms.
For archived puzzles, the NYT archive reaches back to June 12, 2023 and is available to All Access and Games subscribers. The Help Center says completed archive puzzles cannot be replayed; archive play affects puzzle statistics but not streaks. An archive is therefore useful for trying past boards, while the daily game is the straightforward route if you want to play the current puzzle.
