Timothée Chalamet revealed his shaved or buzzed head on October 7, 2025, during a promotional appearance for Marty Supreme. Coverage linked the timing to Dune: Part Three, but did not establish that Chalamet confirmed the film as his reason. By May and July 2026, reports described his hair growing out.
When did Timothée Chalamet debut the buzz cut?
Chalamet showed the look in an Instagram Live or promotional video connected to Marty Supreme on October 7, 2025, according to GQ and TMZ. The reveal came a day after he attended a New York Film Festival screening of the film wearing a cap, GQ reported.
The video was part of the film’s promotion and featured its merchandise in a ping-pong-themed setup. Just Jared reproduced the promotional line, “Marty Supreme is an American film that comes out on Christmas 2025”; it was not an explanation for the haircut.
Was it a buzz cut or a shaved head?
Contemporary coverage used both terms. The reports do not specify a clipper guard, exact hair length, or salon technique, so there is no supported technical description beyond a very short or shaved look.

Why did Chalamet shave his head?
GQ connected the haircut’s timing to production of Dune: Part Three, and later coverage repeated that association. That is reported context, not a confirmed explanation from Chalamet in the available accounts. The promotional video placed the reveal within the Marty Supreme campaign, but it did not establish the role-related motive.
Is Timothée Chalamet still bald?
No. The reveal was a temporary point in the reported timeline. In May 2026, GQ described Chalamet growing out the buzz cut after production wrapped and trying different hairstyles; British GQ also covered a short, changing cut that month. By July 2026, Vogue reported substantial growth and longer hair at a Dune: Part Three trailer event.
