TikTok creator Vic Path says she was diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) at 19 and describes learning interpersonal tactics through trial and error. In a 2024 interview, she explained that she uses “psychopath” online because the word is more recognizable and draws attention. That is her public label—not an independently verified clinical diagnosis—and her videos are personal accounts, not diagnostic guidance.
Who is Vic Path?
“Vic Path” is a stage name associated with the TikTok account @victhepath. In a September 9, 2024 interview with ELLE, she said she had been diagnosed with ASPD at 19. The interview reports her account; it does not independently verify her medical history.
She told ELLE that “psychopath” is the term she uses online because it is more familiar to audiences and works better on social media. ASPD is the diagnosis she says she received; “psychopath” is her chosen public-facing label, not confirmation of a separate clinical diagnosis.
What manipulation tactics did she describe?
Learning by observing reactions
In a report published by PerthNow on August 15, 2024, Vic said she learned what worked by watching how people responded to things she said and did. She described the process as trial and error: “would just do and say things and see how people would react to them and through that trial and error you can learn what tactics work and which ones don’t”. She summed up her framing this way: “Manipulation is just basically purposeful cause and effect.” Those are her explanations of her own behavior, not a clinical account of how people with ASPD generally act.

Using silence to invite more disclosure
PerthNow also reported a tactic Vic described: after someone finishes speaking, stay silent and look as though you expect them to continue. She said the awkward pause may prompt the other person to say more and could make a lie more apparent. The report presents this as her claim; it does not establish that silence reliably detects deception.
What does she say about personality traits?
Vic’s online content discusses traits she associates with psychopathy and her own experiences. A separate report on a TikTok post listing five purported signs records her caution: “Knowing somebody with these traits doesn’t necessarily mean they’re a psychopath.” That warning matters: a social-media list is not a diagnostic checklist, and noticing one or more traits cannot establish a diagnosis.

ELLE’s interview also places the discussion in a broader clinical context. Clinical psychologist Paul Losoff cautioned against self-diagnosis, saying, “You can’t just fill out a bunch of questions and discover that you’re a psychopath or sociopath.” He added, “A licensed professional needs to spend hours getting to know you.” Georgetown researcher Abigail Marsh emphasized behavior and management rather than treating traits alone as the problem: “It’s not the traits themselves that are the problem for any disorder,” she said. “It’s how the traits manifest behaviorally and how well the person has learned to manage them.”

PerthNow reported that Vic said she created her page to raise awareness of ASPD and shares personal experiences, including childhood and family loss. In her ELLE interview, she also discussed destigmatizing the disorder while acknowledging the commercial side of being a creator. She told the magazine, “My sole motivator is money,” and described TikTok as providing a comfortable wage, but declined to give a specific income figure. Those remarks appeared in a 2024 interview and should not be read as current earnings information.

How to read her claims responsibly
- Separate self-report from verification: her age at diagnosis and personal history are reported as her account.
- Keep the label in context: “psychopath” is the term she uses publicly; the diagnosis she reports is ASPD.
- Do not treat tactics as clinical rules: her account of silence and disclosure is not evidence that it reveals lies reliably or applies to everyone with ASPD.
- Do not diagnose from clips or lists: her own caveat and the clinician quoted by ELLE both argue against that shortcut.
