The title’s “new” wording belongs to the song’s original news moment. “BZRP Music Sessions #53” was released in January 2023. Contemporary reporting gave January 11 as the release date, while Guinness World Records described the YouTube video as released on January 12. Posts attributed to Casio
Posts that circulated online after the song and were presented as Casio’s reaction were not genuine official company communications, according to AFP Factual’s fact-check. A viral post bearing a company’s name is not evidence that the company issued it. AFP Factual examined the purported Casio posts.
What records did the track set?
In a report published March 10, 2023, Guinness World Records said the track set four records. Its account lists the categories and measurements; the claim should be understood within those published categories and the relevant platform, language, and period—not as a broader statement that the song holds every possible streaming or music record. That is a reported, week-long sales claim from the interview—not an audited company-wide figure or proof of annual growth. The track was not a new release in 2024 or later. In March 2024, the Associated Press reported that Shakira’s album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran took its title from a lyric in “Music Sessions #53.” The album was her first full-length release in seven years and followed her split from Piqué, placing the track within a longer musical response to that period.
