What is today’s Strands theme hint?
The theme hint is “Curiouser and Curiouser!” The puzzle’s words point to things found in a classic children’s story. Parade’s dated guide gives this progressive clue for the six answers: HA, RA, CR, CA, DO, and WO. The first answer is in the top half of the board.
NYT Strands spangram hint
The spangram describes the theme and touches two opposite sides of the board. For this puzzle, it runs vertically from top to bottom; its first two letters are WO.
How to play Strands
Strands asks players to find words related to a theme in a letter grid, then find a spangram that describes that theme. The New York Times instruction quoted by Parade is: “Find theme words to fill the board.” Theme words are highlighted in blue and the spangram in yellow. Drag or tap letters to form a word; when tapping, double-tap to submit. Find three non-theme words to earn a hint. Parade’s January 20, 2025 guide attributes these instructions to The New York Times.
