How Strands hints work
The puzzle uses a 6-by-8 letter grid. Connect adjacent letters horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to form words; a path can change direction. The spangram describes the theme and touches two opposite sides of the grid. Finding three valid words that are not theme answers unlocks an in-game hint for a theme word. These mechanics are summarized by Parade and Strands.Game; Strands.Game says it is not affiliated with The New York Times.
