These clues follow the puzzle’s color order and avoid naming the answers outright.
- Yellow: The first moment.
- Green: Stick together.
- Blue: Acronyms from the same decade.
- Purple: A month in common.
For a little more direction: Yellow is the opposite of ending; Green describes what you do when you connect a group. For Blue, think of networks such as MTV or shows such as TGIF. For Purple, each answer can be followed by “day” or “flower.”

ALF, MTV, NES, and VHS are abbreviations associated with television or home entertainment in the 1980s. Their expansions are alien life form, Music Television, Nintendo Entertainment System, and video home system, respectively. NES can suggest a video-game console rather than television, but it belongs with the decade’s media abbreviations in this puzzle.
