Sports Illustrated Swimsuit named DJ and content creator Xandra Pohl a rookie model for its 2024 Swimsuit Issue, marking the magazine’s 60th anniversary. Her feature was photographed by Derek Kettela in Belize. Pohl’s connection to the brand began the year before, when she DJed and walked at the SI Swimsuit runway show during Miami Swim Week.
What the 2024 rookie announcement means
Pohl was part of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s 2024 rookie roster, announced for the publication’s 60th-anniversary issue. The designation refers to her place in that year’s issue; it is a historical announcement, not a new 2026 selection. Sports Illustrated Pressroom’s 2024 roster announcement names her among the rookies.
Who is Xandra Pohl?
Sports Illustrated described Pohl as a DJ and content creator. Its 2024 profile identified her as a University of Miami graduate and Miami-based creator. The same profile reported more than 1.5 million combined TikTok and Instagram followers at the time; that is a historical publisher-reported figure, not a current follower count. The SI Swimsuit profile also includes comments from Pohl and then-editor in chief MJ Day about Pohl’s work and public persona.
How Pohl’s SI Swimsuit feature came about
Her 2023 runway appearance
Before becoming a rookie, Pohl DJed at the SI Swimsuit runway show during Miami Swim Week in 2023 and also made a surprise appearance on the runway. SI Lifestyle’s account of her 60th-anniversary issue debut describes that earlier event.

The 2024 Belize shoot
For her rookie feature, Pohl traveled to Belize and was photographed by Derek Kettela. The official SI Swimsuit gallery was published and modified on May 14, 2024, and credits the photographer and swimwear labels featured in the images, including Four Three Seven, Navy Ray, MEDINA Swimwear, Frankies Bikinis, Agent Provocateur, Andi Bagus and Oséree. These are credits for garments in the shoot, not evidence that Pohl endorsed each brand.

In the SI Swimsuit profile, Pohl described a “legend” as someone passionate about what they do. In the SI Lifestyle feature, she said she intended to keep doing her work and spoke about being confident and passionate about it. Those remarks reflect her comments in 2024 rather than a verified account of her present plans.
