The Ticketmaster fee class action in federal case 22-cv-00047 is still pending. The case alleges that Live Nation and Ticketmaster used anticompetitive practices to raise primary-ticket fees, but the court has not decided those allegations. The administrator says no settlement or payout is currently available. Its listed deadline to opt out passed on July 6, 2026, and its current trial listing is July 6, 2027.
Which Ticketmaster lawsuit is this?
This is the consumer fee class action identified by case number 22-cv-00047. The official administrator calls it Popp, et al. v. Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. and Ticketmaster LLC; ClassAction.org coverage uses the caption Heckman et al. v. Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. et al. Those differing captions refer to the same case number, not two separate lawsuits.

The plaintiffs allege that Live Nation and Ticketmaster used monopoly power and anticompetitive conduct in primary ticketing and concert promotion, resulting in excessive fees. The administrator summarizes the alleged conduct as exclusive dealing, coercive tying arrangements, and economic threats or coercion. These are allegations in this case, not findings that the companies have been held liable.
Who may be included in the class?
The class definition is narrower than “anyone who bought a Ticketmaster ticket.” The class notice describes U.S. individuals who bought qualifying primary tickets directly from Ticketmaster or a Live Nation affiliate, paid primary-ticketing fees, and bought tickets for concerts at qualifying “major concert venues” since 2010. The notice defines those venues using Pollstar’s top 500 U.S. concert venues by ticket sales in any year since 2010.

Other exclusions and conditions apply. A Ticketmaster account, purchase, or fee by itself does not establish that someone is a class member. Check the full notice on the official administrator’s website to assess whether a particular purchase qualifies.
What is the case’s current status?
As of October 8, 2026, the administrator’s dates page lists July 6, 2026 as the deadline to exclude yourself from the class; that date has passed. It lists a trial for July 6, 2027, at 9:00 a.m. Pacific, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California in Los Angeles. The administrator warns that dates can be changed, canceled, or modified, so check its current notice and dates before relying on the listing.

Will class members get money?
No payment or other benefit is currently available through this case. The administrator says the court has not decided whether the defendants did anything wrong and the parties have not settled the case. It also says there is no guarantee that the case will produce a recovery. There is no current class-action payout to claim.
How is this different from the 2026 government antitrust case?
The private fee class action is not the same litigation as the antitrust case brought by the U.S. Department of Justice and states. In that separate government case, the New York Attorney General reported that a jury found Live Nation and Ticketmaster liable for antitrust violations on April 15, 2026. The Attorney General said New Yorkers were overcharged $1.72 per ticket in higher fees. That figure concerns the reported government-case verdict and New Yorkers; it is not a payout amount in case 22-cv-00047 or an amount established for every ticket buyer.

The Attorney General said remedies and financial penalties would be addressed separately. The Justice Department’s case page lists a June 29, 2026 Competitive Impact Statement and settlement-related filings dated June 12, 2026, including a proposed final judgment. Those developments belong to the government litigation, not the private fee class action.
| Proceeding | What it concerns | Status or outcome described by the cited source |
|---|---|---|
| Popp, case 22-cv-00047 | Private class action over alleged excessive primary-ticketing fees and anticompetitive conduct. | The allegations have not been decided in this case; the administrator says there is no settlement or payout now. |
| DOJ and states antitrust case | Government antitrust enforcement against Live Nation and Ticketmaster. | The New York Attorney General reported a jury liability finding on April 15, 2026; remedies and financial penalties were to be addressed separately. DOJ listings include later filings. |
| Leifer v. Live Nation | Separate claims concerning secondary-market tickets and Ticketmaster arbitration terms. | A June 29, 2026 opinion addresses arbitration; this is not the primary-ticket fee class action. |
Why the case names and headlines can be confusing
Several legal matters involve Live Nation and Ticketmaster, but the parties, claims, and procedural stages differ. The fee class action concerns qualifying primary-ticket purchases and remains unresolved according to its administrator. The government matter is a separate antitrust enforcement case with a reported jury verdict and later remedy-related proceedings. Leifer concerns secondary-market claims and arbitration. A verdict, filing, or dollar figure in one proceeding should not be treated as an outcome in another.
