For young children, the most directly relevant body-confidence songs are Blippi and Dove’s “My Body is Amazing” and “Shine as Bright as You Are!” The collection was announced for ages 4–6 and is designed to help children appreciate their bodies and what they can do. Use the videos as a starting point for singing, moving and talking together—not as a proven treatment or a guarantee of lasting self-esteem.
Two body-confidence songs to start with
“My Body is Amazing”
Moonbug Entertainment named this video in its October 2024 announcement of its Blippi and Dove collection. The company said Dove research found children who watched it felt more confident and positive about their bodies. The announcement does not provide the study’s sample size, method, effect size or publication, so that summary does not establish that the song causes lasting change.
“Shine as Bright as You Are!”
The same announcement identifies this music video as another part of the collection, intended to help children appreciate their unique bodies. It does not establish that one song is more effective than the other, and it does not list the titles of all nine announced music videos.
What was included in the Blippi and Dove collection
Moonbug’s 2024 announcement described a 75-minute special, Wonderful Talent Show, four episodes, nine music videos and 26 YouTube Shorts. It said the videos and Shorts were free on Blippi’s YouTube channel at the time of announcement and the special was available on Prime Video. Those are announcement-date availability details, not confirmation of today’s catalog or access in every region. Check the current destination before sharing a link or playing a video.

How to use a song as a conversation starter
Watch together, sing or dance, then invite a child to notice what their body can do or what makes each person special. Moonbug describes interactive co-viewing, singing, dancing and talking as part of the collection’s approach. Keeping the conversation open lets a child respond in their own words instead of treating an affirmation as something they have to repeat or believe on cue.
- Ask about abilities and experiences, such as running, hugging, drawing or resting, rather than ranking how bodies look.
- Make room for different feelings. A child does not need to feel confident every moment to be listened to and supported.
- Preview the current video and its viewing environment before handing over a device; check that the destination is available and appropriate for your family.
Everyday body talk matters beyond the playlist
Dove’s parent guidance on body talk defines it as comments that reinforce societal beauty standards, whether intended positively or negatively. Its practical advice is to avoid negative appearance comments and avoid linking food or exercise to changing appearance. Instead, talk about eating and movement in terms of care, strength, energy and enjoyment.

As body image expert Dr. Stephanie Damiano puts it in the Dove article, “What we say about our bodies can have such a lasting impression on our children, who actually think we’re pretty amazing”. This applies to comments about other people’s bodies as well as a parent’s own. ABC News Australia reported Professor Zali Yager’s advice to model positive body image by appreciating what bodies can do and avoiding negative talk about one’s own or others’ bodies. That is expert advice reported in a 2020 news article, not a clinical guideline.
The American Academy of Pediatrics’ HealthyChildren.org episode page, “Episode 71 – Body Positivity and Kids: How to Raise Confident, Healthy Children”, identifies topics including body confidence, thriving at any size, body bullying and avoiding perfectionism or pressure. It features pediatrician Whitney Casares, MD, FAAP.

A more structured option for older children
For children ages 7–12, Be Real USA describes My One-of-a-Kind Body: The Ultimate Guide to Caring for Me as a guide with eight lessons. Its subjects include body confidence, care, bullying, nutrition, movement, media literacy and mental health. The Be Real USA page for the guide links to videos, lesson plans, worksheets and an Amazon listing. It is a separate educational resource, not another song or a required follow-up.

The available announcement supports that these named songs were created as body-confidence content for young children and reports a positive finding attributed to Dove research for “My Body is Amazing.” It does not include enough methodological detail to judge the strength or durability of that finding. No independent efficacy statistic or peer-reviewed evaluation of these particular songs is established by the cited sources. It is reasonable to use them as prompts for a supportive parent-child conversation; it is not reasonable to promise that watching them prevents body-image concerns or reliably changes self-esteem.
