The cast of American Pie went on to work across film and television, voice acting, music, hosting and, in one case, professional poker. This career retrospective follows the film’s best-known performers through credits reported in Us Weekly’s April 17, 2026 update and EL PAÍS’s August 30, 2024 anniversary feature. Those dates matter: these are published career snapshots, not confirmation of every actor’s latest role or whereabouts on October 8, 2026.
The original American Pie cast at a glance
The original film debuted in the United States in July 1999. Its central group of friends was Jim (Jason Biggs), Oz (Chris Klein), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) and Stifler (Seann William Scott). The wider ensemble included Alyson Hannigan, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, Natasha Lyonne, Shannon Elizabeth, Eugene Levy and Jennifer Coolidge. The careers below are selective highlights, not complete filmographies.

Where the main group went after American Pie
Jason Biggs (Jim)
Biggs continued acting in film and television after playing Jim. Among the later television credits highlighted by the retrospectives are Orange Is the New Black and Outmatched. Us Weekly also notes his hosting work on Jason Biggs’ Cash at Your Door. These credits show a career that extended well beyond the teen-comedy role; they do not establish what his newest project is.
Seann William Scott (Stifler)
Scott became known for comedy roles in films including Dude, Where’s My Car?, Road Trip, Old School and Role Models. He later played Father Joe on the television comedy Welcome to Flatch. EL PAÍS discusses the typecasting associated with his breakout persona, alongside other film and voice work; that is one aspect of his career, not its whole story.
#1 Best Overall
Chris Klein (Oz)
Klein continued working in film and television, with Us Weekly identifying his role as Dr. Bill Townsend in Sweet Magnolias. EL PAÍS also records later film work, including Fear Street: Prom Queen. The 2024 retrospective discussed that title in the context of an anticipated release; that date has passed, so it should be treated as a film credit rather than an upcoming project.
Thomas Ian Nicholas (Kevin)
Nicholas’s post-franchise path has included both acting and music. EL PAÍS lists selected screen credits and describes his musical activity. Its account of his “last” film is tied to the 2024 article and should not be read as a current statement about his latest work.
Eddie Kaye Thomas (Finch)
Thomas went on to work in film, on stage and in voice acting. His television credits include voice work on American Dad! and a role on Scorpion. EL PAÍS’s discussion of Scorpion ends with the series’ 2018 period, making it career history rather than evidence of his current screen activity.
Other memorable American Pie performers
Alyson Hannigan (Michelle)
Hannigan already had a prominent television profile through Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and later became widely associated with How I Met Your Mother. The two retrospectives also point to subsequent acting and voice credits. These are career landmarks, not a claim that either series represents her latest role.
Rank #3
- AMERICAN PIE (UNRATED WIDESCREEN C MOVIE
Tara Reid (Vicky)
Reid continued appearing in film and television. Us Weekly highlights her work in the Sharknado franchise, while EL PAÍS also describes later screen appearances. The available career reporting gives no reason to make sensational personal-life coverage part of this account.
Mena Suvari (Heather)
Suvari’s career included a high-profile role in American Beauty, followed by film and television work. EL PAÍS includes American Horror Story among the later titles in its historical overview. Those credits illustrate a broad screen career, but the retrospective is not a definitive record of her newest work.
Rank #4
- Runtime: 805 minutes
Natasha Lyonne (Jessica)
Lyonne built a substantial television career after American Pie, including roles in Orange Is the New Black and Russian Doll. Both retrospectives cite those series as major career milestones; neither should be mistaken for a complete or up-to-the-minute list of her credits.
Shannon Elizabeth (Nadia)
Elizabeth continued acting and also pursued professional poker. Us Weekly and EL PAÍS both describe that combination, a path that makes her post-film career notably different from a conventional screen-only résumé.

Eugene Levy (Jim’s father)
Levy brought an established comedy career to the film and continued working in television and film afterward. EL PAÍS highlights Schitt’s Creek and later television work as part of that continuing career.
Jennifer Coolidge (Stifler’s mother)
Coolidge played Stifler’s mother in the original film. The dated career update used for this retrospective does not provide enough detail for a responsibly sourced individual account of her later work, so her role in the film is the point that can be stated here without extending beyond the reporting.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why there is no single “where are they now?” answer
The cast did not follow one common career path. Some performers became closely associated with later television roles; others continued through films, voice acting or stage work. Nicholas combined acting with music, Elizabeth added professional poker, and Biggs had hosting work as well as screen credits. The 2024 EL PAÍS feature and the newer Us Weekly roundup offer useful career perspectives, but the later publication date does not make every item a real-time update. This article therefore treats “now” as the status of careers described in those dated reports, not as a guarantee of each person’s work or location today.
