Yes in the TV series: the season 3 finale ends with Siuan Sanche deposed and condemned to death, and finale coverage describes her as dead. In the novels, she survives this point and continues through a much longer story before dying during the Last Battle. The two continuities have different answers.
What happens to Siuan in the TV series?
In the season 3 finale, Elaida displaces Siuan as Amyrlin Seat and sentences her to death. The finale is treated as Siuan’s death in coverage by The Cinemaholic and Ars Technica. It is a major change from the novels, not a sign that the book storyline reaches the same point at the same time.
Sophie Okonedo plays Siuan in the television adaptation of Robert Jordan’s novels. The series rearranges and changes events, so its version of Siuan’s fate should be read separately from the books.
How does Siuan’s fate differ in the novels?
Spoilers for the novels: Siuan survives her deposition and stilling. She later joins the resistance to Elaida and takes part in the Last Battle. She dies during that battle while helping protect Gareth Bryne and the forces under his command. This is a later outcome in the novels, not what happens in the television series’ season 3 finale.

Could Siuan appear again in the show?
In a post-finale Instagram Q&A reported by WotSeries on April 17, 2025, showrunner Rafe Judkins said that he and Sophie Okonedo had discussed the decision and felt it was the best time for the character to leave. He also said the show had plans for another character to take on one of Siuan’s main storylines from the books. Judkins added that “it’s not the last time we will see Siuan if the show continues.”
That comment leaves room for a future appearance, but it does not establish that Siuan survived the finale: a later appearance could be a flashback, dream, or another form. It also does not confirm which character will take over the book material.
