Brie Larson voices Rosalina in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Nintendo and Illumination announced the casting on November 12, 2025, alongside Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr. The film’s theatrical and home-video release dates have since passed; the confirmed dates and formats are below.
Who voices Rosalina in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie?
Brie Larson is the voice of Rosalina. Nintendo and Illumination confirmed the casting in their November 12, 2025 announcement, which also named Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr. The announcement accompanied the film’s first official trailer.
The companies did not include a verbatim statement from Larson about her casting in that release. NBCUniversal later summarized an interview in which she discussed emotional choices and challenges in voice acting; its March 25, 2026 feature points readers to that conversation.
What is the film, and how does it follow the 2023 movie?
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is an animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros. and follows The Super Mario Bros. Movie, released in 2023. Nintendo and Illumination said the earlier film earned more than $1.3 billion worldwide; that figure refers to the predecessor, not the new film.
