South Park’s J.D. Vance parody appears in “Got a Nut,” Season 27, Episode 2, which originally aired August 6, 2025. It recasts Trump as the grand host of a Fantasy Island-style Mar-a-Lago and Vance as a tiny, deferential assistant modeled on Tattoo. The joke is about the hierarchy between them: Trump dismisses Vance, who returns to serve him.

Mackey’s job loss and his move to ICE form the episode’s central story. Trump and Vance appear in a later subplot, so the Vance gag is not the episode’s main premise. The Los Angeles Times’ season coverage
What is the Fantasy Island reference?
The scene stages Trump’s Mar-a-Lago as Fantasy Island, the setting of the older television series. Trump takes the imposing host role associated with Mr. Roarke; Vance is drawn as a diminutive assistant resembling Tattoo, played in the original series by Hervé Villechaize. The reference is to the show’s characters and setup, not a claim that the South Park episode is a remake.

In the scene as described by contemporaneous coverage, Vance announces the arrival of an ICE plane, echoing Tattoo’s association with announcing a plane’s arrival. Trump snaps that he already knows. Forbes’ account of the parody
What is the joke about Vance’s role?
The visual contrast and the exchange make Vance look subordinate and eager to please. Trump brushes him out of the way, and Vance returns to assist him. Other jokes place Vance in an obsequious role around Trump and Satan. These are satirical character choices, not factual descriptions of the real people.

The interpretation is that the scene exaggerates Vance’s subordinate position beside Trump: he is physically diminished, dismissed, and still ready to serve. That reading follows from the scene’s staging and repeated behavior; no direct creator statement explaining this particular Vance joke is established in the cited coverage.
