Angel’s official tagline is “Infinite worlds. Endless choices. One way out.” The film is labeled action, romance and science fiction on Angel’s distribution page.
How does the film connect to the Book of Job?
Angel’s press materials call The Shift a modern-day retelling of the Book of Job. That is the distributor’s description of the film’s inspiration; it does not mean the movie is a literal screen adaptation of the biblical text. Its science-fiction premise relocates questions of suffering, faith and perseverance to a contemporary, alternate-world story.
