Those sources establish the phase and its timing; they do not establish that this full moon is in Pisces. Astrology assigns zodiac placements through its own framework, separate from the astronomical definition of a full moon. If you mean a Pisces full moon in a particular year or astrological tradition, verify that specific date and context rather than attaching Pisces to October 26, 2026.
What a limpia is—and why there is no single recipe
Curanderismo is a traditional healing practice that began in rural Mexico and spread to the U.S. Southwest and beyond, as the University of New Mexico’s account of a curanderismo exhibition explains. Limpias belong to living traditions and communities; they should not be presented as one universal ritual detached from that context.

The University of New Mexico Curanderismo Program describes materials that may include aromatic plants, an egg, water, mezcal or agua florida, copal incense, and a candle. What is used varies with regional and local traditions, including examples from Oaxaca, the Fidencista healing tradition of Espinazo in Nuevo León, and New Mexico. These are examples of difference, not ingredients to combine into a supposedly definitive cleanse. The program’s Chamisa, Issue 4 discusses the materials and their variation.
That variety has a history. Mexico’s Alberto Beltrán Documentation and Information Center describes traditional therapeutic resources as both material and symbolic and discusses colonial-era syncretism in popular herbal practice. It is more accurate to recognize that layered history than to label every element purely pre-Hispanic or universally Indigenous.

A limpia-inspired reflection you can adapt
The steps below are a personal reflective exercise, not a canonical protocol or a substitute for guidance from a practitioner or community whose tradition you are following. You do not need to buy anything or use a physical object. If you are learning within a specific tradition, follow that community’s guidance rather than treating this outline as a replacement.
- Set a clear intention. Write one sentence about what you want clarity on—for example, a decision, a boundary, or a habit you want to change. Frame it as a question you can reflect on, not as a demand that the moon solve it.
- Choose a symbolic action—or none. You might sit quietly, breathe, or hold a glass of water as a reminder to pause. Some practitioners use materials such as aromatic plants, an egg, water, mezcal or agua florida, copal incense, or a candle; choices vary by community. None is required for this personal exercise.
- Reflect on what feels burdensome. Name what you are ready to examine, what is within your control, and what support you may need. Treat any feelings or insights as prompts for reflection, not proof that an object has detected or removed something.
- Close with one practical next step. Write a small action you can take, such as asking for advice, setting a boundary, or scheduling time to revisit the decision. A written commitment connects the reflection to something concrete in your life.
What an egg cleansing means in documented belief practice
A May 14, 2023 account in USC’s Digital Folklore Archives describes passing an egg over the body, cracking it into water, and interpreting its appearance. That record documents an informant’s account of a belief practice; it does not establish that an egg can diagnose a health condition or verify the presence of negative energy.
