No reliable, transparent ranking establishes who the richest male models in the world were in 2023. The best-documented comparison available here is a Forbes ranking reported by ABC News in 2013—and it measures estimated earnings over the prior year, not net worth. Sean O’Pry topped that historical earnings list; it does not prove he was the wealthiest model in 2023.
Who’s the wealthiest male model as of 2023?
There is no substantiated answer in the available evidence. A net-worth ranking would need credible, comparable estimates of each model’s assets and liabilities, along with a clear date and methodology. The sources cited here do not provide that for 2023, so naming a single wealthiest male model—or assigning anyone a 2023 fortune—would overstate what is known.
That distinction matters because a model’s earnings during one year are not the same as accumulated wealth. Net worth reflects assets minus liabilities; annual earnings are income over a defined period. The available figures support a historical comparison of earnings, not a ranking of fortunes.
What the documented ranking actually says
ABC News reported Forbes’ estimates for the highest-paid male models in 2013. The amounts below are estimated earnings in the year preceding that list, not net worth and not 2023 income.

| Model | Reported estimated earnings | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|
| Sean O’Pry | $1.5 million | Estimated earnings in the year preceding the 2013 Forbes list, as reported by ABC News in 2013. |
| David Gandy | $1.4 million | Estimated earnings in the year preceding the 2013 Forbes list, as reported by ABC News in 2013. |
| Simon Nessman | $1.1 million | Estimated earnings in the year preceding the 2013 Forbes list, as reported by ABC News in 2013. |
These historical estimates come from ABC News’ 2013 report on Forbes’ highest-paid male models. They should not be read as present-day earnings, lifetime income or a measure of wealth.
Why earnings do not establish net worth
A ranking of annual pay answers how much people were estimated to earn during a specified period. It does not reveal what they kept, invested, spent, owe, or own. Nor does it capture income outside the measured period. Without comparable information about assets, liabilities and other income streams, earnings cannot be converted into net-worth rankings.
Business ownership can add context to a model’s financial activity, but it is not itself a valuation. A 2022 Forbes interview with David Gandy describes him as the owner and creative mind behind David Gandy Wellwear. It does not establish the business’s value or Gandy’s net worth.
How to interpret claims about male-model fortunes
- Check the date. A list published after 2023 may describe a different year or a later estimate, not wealth as of 2023.
- Check the measure. “Highest-paid” usually concerns income during a period; “richest” implies accumulated wealth.
- Look for a method. A credible comparison should explain how estimates were produced and apply a comparable approach to each person.
- Separate business evidence from valuation. A documented company or ownership role does not, by itself, show how much an individual is worth.
For example, Enterprise Wired’s list of richest male models calls its figures approximate and describes the list as reflecting the industry in 2026. It therefore cannot verify a 2023 ranking.

What the historical comparison reveals—and what it cannot
ABC News also reported that the ten highest-earning male models made an estimated $8 million combined from September 2012 to September 2013. In the same period, the ten highest-earning female models made an estimated $83 million combined. These are group earnings estimates for that period, not wealth totals. They provide historical context about the earnings comparison, but they do not explain individual net worth or establish a 2023 ranking.
In the ABC News report, O’Pry said, “I’m not going to be complaining about not making $42 million. … At the end of the day I’m very, very blessed with what I do.” His comment offers a personal perspective on the comparison; it is not evidence about his assets or net worth.
