In this context, “paternal half-sister” means that Zac and Olivia share a father, not both parents. Us Weekly says Zac and Dylan are the sons of David Efron and Starla Baskett; Olivia is David’s daughter with Jenny.
Why has Olivia been called a “secret” sister?
The label is a sensational hook, not a fact supported by the coverage reviewed. The reports describe public family posts and identify Olivia’s relationship to Zac; they do not report a hidden-child revelation or a family concealment.

- Supported by the reporting: Olivia is Zac and Dylan’s paternal half-sister; Us Weekly reports that David and Jenny welcomed her in 2019; and Zac has publicly referred to her as his sister.
- Not supported by these reports: that Olivia was secretly concealed, that Zac has a daughter named Olivia, or that the family disclosed a hidden-child revelation.
These details come from entertainment-news reports rather than official family records. Olivia is a minor, so the public posts and limited family information are the relevant facts; private details such as her schooling, routine, or exact birthday are not needed to answer who she is.
