Jo Koy and Chelsea Handler announced their breakup in July 2022, after dating for less than a year. Handler has since discussed the split without revealing its private details. The available reporting does not establish whether Koy is dating anyone now, so it would be inaccurate to label him single or name a current partner.

What has Chelsea Handler said about the breakup?
Handler has said that “some behaviors” were things the two could not agree on, but she has not described those behaviors in detail. In a January 2025 interview with Parade, she explained that she did not want to disclose what happened because she did not want to hurt someone she had loved. She also called it “the first mature ending to a relationship that I was in.”
In that same interview, Handler said she did not think she had spoken with Koy since their breakup. That is what she recalled in January 2025; it does not establish whether they have had contact since then.

Is Jo Koy single or dating someone now?
The cited reporting does not confirm Koy’s relationship status as of October 2026. A January 2024 Just Jared report said little was publicly known about his personal life at the time, but that older account cannot establish his status today. Without a more recent, reliable statement or report, neither “single” nor “has a girlfriend” is supported.
Handler’s later comments about her own dating life are not evidence of Koy’s. Each person’s current relationship status requires its own confirmation.

What did Handler say about her book and the relationship?
In a February 2025 interview with Katie Couric Media, Handler reflected on being publicly in love with Koy and how the breakup changed the original idea for her book. “Then we broke up,” she said. “I was like, ‘Well, I guess I can’t write that book now.’” The account offers context about Handler’s experience, not information about Koy’s present dating status.
