But their comments do not establish a lasting personal feud: Snipes also praised Reynolds’s talent, said he enjoyed working with him, and reunited with him after Reynolds reached out.
How Ryan Reynolds and Wesley Snipes came to work together
The actors shared the 2004 film Blade: Trinity, in which Snipes played Blade and Reynolds played Hannibal King. Their accounts describe a professional relationship shaped by different working styles and comic sensibilities; they do not offer a clear account of a personal falling-out.

What Reynolds said about working with Snipes in 2004
In a December 2004 interview, Reynolds said he first met Snipes at a dinner for the cast before filming. He described Snipes as staying in character once production began, but also recalled their earlier conversation positively: “He was very kind and forthcoming at that point but once the movie started shooting, he assumes Blade and that’s kind of it.”
That is Reynolds’s description of how communication felt on set. It suggests distance during filming, but does not show that Snipes disliked Reynolds or that the two had a personal feud.

What Snipes said about Reynolds’s humor—and his talent
In a 2024 interview about working with Reynolds again, Snipes said the comedy Reynolds performed in those days was not his own style: “Some of the things he did back in those days, that’s not really my humor. I’m not tuned in that way. So I thought, ‘Well, it’s a little over the top for me.’”
Snipes also praised what Reynolds does as distinctive and difficult to imitate, calling him unique in his niche. He described the later experience positively: “So it was enjoyable. It was enjoyable to work with him. It was enjoyable to revisit.” His comments support a difference in taste, alongside respect and enjoyment of their reunion—not a claim of enduring hostility.

Why they reunited in Deadpool & Wolverine
Director Shawn Levy said Reynolds contacted Snipes about returning as Blade. Levy also noted that the actors had not been in close touch for a long time. Snipes told Entertainment Weekly that Reynolds called him out of the blue after 20 years.
The reunion shows that they were able to work together again after a long period of limited contact. It does not establish that they had been close friends in the intervening years.

How to read the stories about a troubled Blade: Trinity set
Patton Oswalt, who also appeared in Blade: Trinity, later recounted production problems and said some Reynolds lines resulted from Snipes not being present. A 2012 ComicBookMovie report reproduces those retrospective comments.
That is a supporting cast member’s recollection, not direct evidence of Snipes’s feelings about Reynolds. It also does not independently establish why Snipes was absent in particular instances. It should not be treated as proof that the two actors had a personal feud.
