She is an original character created for the television adaptation, not a character with an obvious direct counterpart in the comics, according to Den of Geek’s season 4 profile. In the show, she has built an online persona around conspiratorial claims and a combative, patriotic political style. Her program is called “The Truthbomb.”
What is Firecracker’s sinister mission?
Firecracker’s role is to influence the public and strengthen Homelander’s position. She uses her online platform to spread conspiratorial messaging, defend him, and attack his opponents; joining The Seven gives her a much larger stage. TV Insider’s season 4 coverage describes her as a loud-talking Supe who tries to rile up the public.

But “mission” can make her sound more methodical than the show’s characterization supports. In a season 5 preview interview, Curry described Firecracker as a reckless asset to Homelander’s endgame who is chiefly trying to survive, adding that “there has never been a goal and a plan executed.” Her allegiance is useful to Homelander, but that does not make her an independent strategist with a coherent operation of her own. Why does Firecracker hate Starlight?
The feud has a personal history beneath its political dimension. When they were younger, Starlight spread a damaging rumor about Firecracker, who was then known as Sparkler. Starlight moved on, but Firecracker held on to the grievance and wants to destroy her. Den of Geek’s account of their history frames the animosity as both personal and political.

That distinction matters: Firecracker is not attacking Starlight solely because of a public ideological conflict. Her old resentment gives the feud a private motive, while her media persona and support for Homelander turn it into part of a broader public campaign.
