There is no single up-to-the-minute chart that ranks every streaming service on the same basis. In the latest dated snapshots available here, East of Eden topped Netflix’s U.S. Top 10 on October 6, 2026, while Nielsen’s September 14–20 U.S. viewing chart put Prime Video’s Neagley first by minutes watched. Apple TV’s Ted Lasso and Modern Family, available on Hulu and Peacock, also appeared in Nielsen’s chart—but that is not a current service-specific ranking.
What’s biggest right now? It depends on the chart
For Netflix’s own U.S. Top 10 snapshot, the answer is East of Eden. For a cross-service comparison based on measured viewing time, Nielsen’s latest week in the available chart has Prime Video titles in the top and Netflix’s Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story in second place. Neither list should be read as a live October 8 ranking across every service.
The charts answer different questions: a service’s Top 10 shows what ranks on that platform at a given time; Nielsen compares measured minutes viewed across services; Reelgood’s index indicates how broadly popular titles are represented in a service’s catalog. A show can lead one kind of list without leading the others.
Netflix’s latest dated U.S. Top 10
Tom’s Guide’s October 6, 2026 report listed these titles in Netflix’s U.S. Top 10 order. It is a dated snapshot, not a live ranking. Netflix says some titles may not be available in every region, and its Top 10 lists are offered only in selected countries and territories. Why East of Eden is a notable chart leader
The seven-part period drama, created and written by Zoe Kazan, adapts John Steinbeck’s 1952 novel. Set in early-1900s California, it follows Cathy Ames and the Trask family across two generations. The book is the show’s source material, not a separate measure of its popularity. Tom’s Guide’s series overview.
Other recognizable adaptations and returning titles
Murder in a Small Town adapts L.R. Wright’s Karl Alberg mystery novels; the October 6 report said Netflix had both seasons available at that time. Percy Jackson and the Olympians is based on Rick Riordan’s books, and the same report noted seasons one and two on Netflix under a limited-time licensing arrangement. Catalog availability can change, so check the service before planning a watch.

The cross-service leaders in Nielsen’s latest available weekly chart
Nielsen’s U.S. Streaming TV chart for September 14–20, 2026 ranked programs by total minutes viewed by people aged two and older. Prime Video’s Neagley led, with Netflix’s Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story second and Prime Video’s Reacher third. The figures below are millions of minutes during that measured week—not unique viewers, ratings of quality, or an October 8 ranking. Nielsen Streaming TV Top 10 and methodology.
| Rank | Show | Service listed | Minutes viewed (millions) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Neagley | Prime Video | 1,776 |
| 2 | Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story | Netflix | 1,481 |

The table shows the stated positions for the top three; the other titles are additional visible entries, and their exact ranks are not specified here. Nielsen’s chart uses its National TV Panel and television viewing. Its displayed platform coverage reflects services with program-level data in its systems, while its viewing data include streaming beyond only the listed providers. It is a useful cross-service measure, but not an exhaustive platform-by-platform census.

Apple TV and Peacock: what the available evidence supports
The Nielsen week includes Ted Lasso for Apple TV and Modern Family with both Hulu and Peacock listed. These confirmed chart appearances do not establish either show as the current No. 1 on its service. The available sources do not provide an October 8 Apple TV or Peacock show ranking.
Which service has the broadest lineup of popular titles?
Reelgood’s U.S. index ranks catalog breadth rather than a single hit. Its October 1 update measured August 24–September 24, 2026 and used the average number of titles each service carried from Reelgood’s U.S. Top 100 popular movies and Top 100 shows over a trailing 30-day window. The score reflects title representation among popular titles in Reelgood’s user base; it is not a viewership ranking. Reelgood’s streaming-service rankings and methodology.

How to read the rankings without mixing unlike measures
- Check the date window. Netflix’s list is an October 6 snapshot, Nielsen’s is for September 14–20, and Reelgood’s index covers August 24–September 24.
- Check what is counted. A platform Top 10 is a service-specific rank; Nielsen counts measured viewing minutes; Reelgood scores the breadth of popular titles represented in a catalog.
- Check geography and availability. The cited Netflix and Nielsen lists are U.S.-specific, and catalogs and rankings can differ across regions.
- Choose the measure that matches the question. Use a service’s chart to find what is trending there, Nielsen for a measured cross-service viewing comparison, and Reelgood for a broad catalog comparison.
Netflix’s first-half viewing figures are a separate measure
Netflix reported more than 97 billion viewing hours across its service in the first half of 2026. It said His & Hers was its most-watched show in that period, with 104 million views; five of the service’s first-half top 10 shows premiered during that half. Netflix also reported 64 million views for I Will Find You and 48 million for Teach You a Lesson. These are Netflix’s own first-half figures, not a comparison with other services or the October weekly Top 10. Netflix’s first-half 2026 viewing report.
