The Black Keys canceled the North American leg of their 2024 International Players Tour in late May 2024. The band said it wanted to reshape the run to create a “similarly exciting, intimate experience”; it did not publicly identify low ticket sales or another specific cause.
What tour was canceled?
The canceled run was a 31-date arena tour supporting Ohio Players, scheduled to begin in Tulsa on September 17, 2024, and end in Detroit on November 12, 2024, according to Billboard. It was the North American leg of the International Players Tour—not a cancellation of every show or all future touring.

Why did The Black Keys cancel the dates?
In a statement reproduced by Exclaim!, the band said that after its recent UK and European shows, it had decided to make changes to the North American leg so it could offer a “similarly exciting, intimate experience for both fans and the band.” The band added that revised dates would be announced shortly.
The statement gave the band’s stated rationale, but did not explain the specific circumstances behind the decision. It did not cite low ticket sales, venue economics, health, or another precise cause. Claims that weak sales caused the cancellation should therefore be treated as speculation, not as a confirmed explanation.

What did ticket buyers get promised?
The band said that people who bought tickets or VIP packages for the original dates would receive full refunds and first access to buy tickets if revised dates were announced. CBS Pittsburgh also reported that promise.
That was a general commitment made at the time; it does not establish whether or when a particular buyer’s refund was processed. If a refund remains unresolved, contact the original ticket seller or venue about that transaction.

Are later Black Keys shows the replacement tour?
No. The band’s official site and Ticketmaster listings accessed October 8, 2026 show later activity, including 2026 shows, but those listings are separate from the canceled 2024 arena run. They do not establish that the canceled dates were rescheduled. Because event listings can change, check the venue and ticket seller directly for current show details: The Black Keys official website and Ticketmaster.
