Roger Waters ranks first in one published estimate of Pink Floyd members’ wealth, followed by Nick Mason and David Gilmour. Celebrity Net Worth’s estimates, accessed October 8, 2026, put Waters at $310 million, Mason at $200 million and Gilmour at $180 million. Its figures for Richard Wright and Syd Barrett are estimates of their wealth at death, not current valuations of their estates. None of these figures is an audited disclosure, so this is a ranking of one publisher’s estimates—not a definitive comparison of the band members’ finances.

| Rank | Member | Celebrity Net Worth estimate | Valuation context |

| 1 | Roger Waters | $310 million | Estimate for a living member; not an audited personal balance sheet. Celebrity Net Worth |
| 2 | Nick Mason | $200 million | Estimate for a living member; not an audited personal balance sheet. Celebrity Net Worth |
| 3 | David Gilmour | $180 million | Estimate for a living member; not an audited personal balance sheet. Celebrity Net Worth |
| 4 | Richard Wright | $40 million | Estimate of his wealth at death in 2008, not a present-day valuation of his estate. Celebrity Net Worth |
| 5 | Syd Barrett | $500,000 | Estimate of his wealth at death in 2006, not a present-day valuation of his estate. Celebrity Net Worth |
These amounts should not be read as cash on hand, annual income, catalog value or the value of an estate today. Wright’s and Barrett’s estimates refer to wealth at death, while the other three are estimates for living people. That difference makes the five-place ranking useful as a snapshot of one publisher’s numbers, but not a fully comparable financial league table.
Why the estimates are difficult to compare
Celebrity Net Worth does not provide an audited, common-date accounting of each person’s assets and liabilities in these figures. The estimates are therefore not independently verified personal financial statements. Other historical lists, including reporting based on the Sunday Times Rich List, cover particular years and living members; they cannot be combined with these figures without accounting for their date, currency and coverage. A 2022 South China Morning Post article offers historical ranking context rather than a current audited comparison: South China Morning Post.

What Pink Floyd’s history adds to the ranking
The band’s official biography describes the early lineup as Barrett, Waters, Mason and Wright, with Gilmour joining as Barrett’s role ended. It identifies Barrett as an early creative force and Waters as taking on lyric duties as the group developed. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame likewise describes Barrett as a cofounder and Waters as the primary lyricist, alongside Gilmour, Wright and Mason. The band’s history helps explain why individual members’ careers and contributions differed, but it does not verify anyone’s net worth.
Gilmour also released solo albums. His official biography records that a 2019 Christie’s sale of more than 120 instruments and artifacts raised $21.5 million, with the proceeds donated to ClientEarth. That is a documented charitable auction result, not a measure of his personal wealth. David Gilmour’s official biography.

What the $400 million Sony deal does—and does not—tell us
In October 2024, Variety reported that Pink Floyd agreed to sell recorded-music rights and name-and-likeness rights to Sony Music for approximately $400 million. The reported package did not include individual songwriting rights, which remained with the individual writers. The report said the transaction involved Waters, Gilmour and Mason, as well as the estates of Wright and Barrett, but it did not disclose each participant’s proceeds. Variety’s report on the transaction.
The aggregate price cannot be divided into five equal shares or added to any member’s estimate as a known personal payout. The reporting does not establish how proceeds were allocated, or the effects of ownership shares, expenses or taxes. The deal’s headline figure is not evidence of any one member’s net worth.
