Claudia Winkleman married film and television producer Kris Thykier in 2000. The clearest public account of their relationship comes from Winkleman herself: in a 2014 interview, she said a marriage can change over time and described the pair as looking after one another. The available coverage offers a few dated glimpses, not a complete picture of their private life.
Who is Kris Thykier?
Thykier is a film and television producer and Winkleman’s husband. A 2007 Guardian profile reported that he had run Freud PR before leaving to start a film company, describing him at the time as a “fledgling film executive.” That account is a snapshot of his career in 2007, not a current job description. The Guardian’s 2007 profile provides that dated context.
IMDb lists Thykier as a producer and executive, with screen credits including Kick-Ass (2010), Operation Mincemeat (2021), and MobLand (2025). IMDb is a secondary biographical database, useful here for orientation and credit information rather than as a definitive account of his current role. See Thykier’s IMDb profile.
When did Claudia Winkleman and Kris Thykier marry?
The couple married in 2000. IMDb gives the wedding date as 24 June 2000, while the Guardian independently identified Thykier as Winkleman’s husband in its 2007 profile. The date comes from a secondary database; the profile supports the basic fact of their marriage.

What has Winkleman said about their marriage?
In an interview published by the Evening Standard on 3 December 2014, Winkleman reflected on how a relationship can evolve: “All I know is that you can have a different marriage with the same man.” She added, “We don’t have rules, but we look after each other more.” She also said that whoever got home first normally made dinner. Read the 2014 interview.
Those remarks describe what Winkleman said at that time. They are not evidence of the couple’s present-day routine or a fixed formula for their relationship. The interview also looked back on an earlier period when Thykier had worked in Hollywood; Winkleman recalled finding it hard to “hold the fort.” That is retrospective context reported in 2014, not confirmation of a continuing work arrangement.

What is—and isn’t—public about their private life?
Coverage has described Winkleman and Thykier as having three children, but the central public account of their marriage remains limited to a small number of interviews and biographical references. A Standard article reports Thykier saying that Winkleman does not tell him or their children how The Traitors will unfold. That supports only a narrow point about spoilers for the programme; it does not establish a broader family rule or reveal private conversations. Read the Standard’s report about The Traitors.
There is no basis in these accounts to infer marital trouble, separation, scandal, or hidden revelations. They establish that Winkleman and Thykier are married and preserve a few of her reflections on how their relationship has changed. Their private feelings and current household routines are not fully documented in the public reporting cited here.
