Since retiring from competitive sprinting after the 2017 World Championships in London, Usain Bolt has turned to music and continued his partnership with Hublot. His latest watch collaboration, announced in April 2026, is the limited-edition Big Bang Reloaded Usain Bolt Ceramic Carbon—a Hublot signature edition developed with him, not a watch made under an independent Bolt brand.
How Bolt describes life after sprinting
Bolt’s final championships were the 2017 World Championships in London. Eight years later, in an Associated Press interview published in September 2025, he reflected on retirement in terms of the standard he had set: “Now that I’ve retired, it’s a great feeling to know that I’m the benchmark if you want to be the best, you want to be a legend. I wanted to set high standards and I did. I’m happy about that.”
The AP reported that Bolt’s career totals included eight Olympic gold medals and eleven world championship gold medals, alongside world records of 9.58 seconds in the 100 metres, 19.19 in the 200 metres and 36.84 in the 4×100-metre relay. Those figures are as reported by the AP in September 2025.
Music with childhood friend NJ Walker
Bolt’s move into music was not a sudden post-retirement experiment. In a September 2021 interview, GRAMMY.com traced his interest to childhood community concerts with his father and reported that he had released a mixtape independently in 2019. He had also worked with dancehall performers Dexta Daps and Baby Cham.

Country Yutes and its Jamaican roots
Country Yutes, released on 3 September 2021, is Bolt’s debut album, made with childhood friend Nugent “NJ” Walker. Its sound draws on reggae, Afrobeats and dancehall. The title points to Bolt’s upbringing in rural Sherwood Content, in Jamaica’s Trelawny Parish, and the move from there to Kingston.
In the GRAMMY.com interview, Bolt described the change in focus this way: “For me, track and field was great for me. That was a chapter of my life. Now I want to move onto another chapter.” A 2024 Time+Tide interview described producing music with Walker as a source of fresh motivation and identified Walker at that time as Bolt’s best friend and manager as well as a singer.
The 2026 Hublot Big Bang Reloaded Usain Bolt
Hublot announced the Big Bang Reloaded Usain Bolt Ceramic Carbon on 14 April 2026 as a 200-piece signature edition developed with Bolt. He has been a Hublot ambassador since 2010. The watch’s design folds references to his Jamaican identity and sprinting career into a 44 mm case and chronograph.
Design details tied to Bolt
- The black ceramic and carbon case is paired with a bezel combining polished 18K yellow gold and frosted carbon, secured by six H-shaped screws.
- Between 6 and 8 o’clock, the dial’s numerals read “6 5 8”; viewed from another perspective, they suggest “9.58,” Bolt’s 100-metre world-record time.
- A lightning-bolt-shaped chronograph seconds hand evokes his signature pose. The bezel carries the words “Anything is Possible, Don’t Think Limits.”
- Hublot says authentic soil from Bolt’s childhood training ground in Jamaica is sealed between sapphire crystals on the caseback.
Movement, straps and availability
The watch uses Hublot’s HUB1280 Unico manufacture flyback chronograph caliber, with a dial-side column wheel and a stated 72-hour power reserve. It comes with two interchangeable One Click straps: yellow gold-toned Velcro fabric, and black, yellow and green camouflage rubber.

Hublot says the edition is available through selected Hublot points of sale and at Hublot.com. Its announcement also describes a 5+5 warranty that can extend international coverage to ten years; eligibility and current terms should be checked with Hublot.

The release presents the watch as a Hublot signature edition made with its ambassador. Bolt’s role is described as a collaboration with the brand, not as independently designing or manufacturing watches. He connected the project to his sporting past: “Working on this watch with Hublot allowed me to rewind and replay my race journey, every second, every stride, every finish line.”
