What the ranking includes—and what it leaves out
This is a ranking of reported worldwide theatrical gross, not domestic box office, profit, or a measure adjusted for inflation. Gross totals also do not indicate how much a film earned after production, distribution, and marketing costs.
The list reflects films with reported figures in the cited database, not a verified exhaustive ranking of every Neeson screen credit. Box Office Watch describes its page as covering 32 films from 1981–2026. FilmDB, by contrast, says 70 of 190 tracked acting credits have usable worldwide financial data and separates those credits from entries without usable data. Rankings can therefore depend on both the database and the credits for which it has figures.
The list also includes voice acting: Neeson voices a character in The Lego Movie, its third-place entry. The ranking is about credited film appearances, not only on-screen roles.
