The man who punched Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi during Jersey Shore filming was Brad Ferro, a New York City gym teacher at the time. Reports in 2011 said he had difficulty finding work after losing his teaching job and had left for Army basic training. Those reports do not establish whether he can find work—or where he works—today.
Who punched Snooki, and when did it happen?
CBS identified the man as Brad Ferro. On August 19, 2009, during filming at the Beachcomber Bar & Grill in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, Ferro struck Polizzi in the face. CBS’s account of the incident and the employment action and its December 2009 report on the case identify him as a gym teacher.

What happened to his teaching job?
The reporting describes a progression, not an immediate confirmed dismissal. In January 2010, CBS quoted a New York Department of Education spokeswoman saying, “The department is in the process of taking termination action.” The report said Ferro had been reassigned after being charged and that a termination letter would give him 30 days to leave. In March 2011, CBS, attributing its account to the New York Post, described him as having been fired from his gym-teacher job at North Queens Community High School after the episode aired. CBS’s March 2011 report is the later account.
What was the legal outcome?
CBS reported in December 2009 that Ferro had been found guilty of assault. Its March 2011 report, citing the New York Post, said he pleaded guilty to one simple-assault charge, paid a $500 fine, and served six months’ probation. These are reports about this individual case, not evidence of a general employment effect for people with misdemeanor convictions.

Did the man who punched Snooki join the Army?
According to CBS’s March 2011 account of the New York Post report, Ferro had difficulty finding work after losing his teaching job and left for Army basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, the previous month. This is the basis for stories saying he could not find work and joined the Army; it describes what was reported in 2011, not his present circumstances.
What did Ferro say about the incident?
CBS’s December 2009 story relayed comments Ferro gave in an interview with the New York Post; CBS did not present these as a direct interview with him. He said, “I was sick to my stomach…I can’t believe that I’d ever do anything like that.” He also said, “I remember very little from the time of the incident,” adding, “It’s all fuzzy. I remember a punch — I don’t remember who or why and I remember being arrested.”

Can we say he still can’t find work?
No. The latest employment account in the cited coverage is from March 2011. It says Ferro had difficulty finding work before leaving for Army basic training, but the available reporting does not verify his employment status now. The title’s present-tense claim should therefore be understood as an old report, not a confirmed current fact.
