For Halloween 2023, the Las Vegas Sphere’s exterior looked like a giant animated jack-o’-lantern, its face shifting through several ghoulish expressions. The “costume” was a digital image on the venue’s exterior display—not a physical decoration.
What was the Sphere’s Halloween costume?
Futurism described the Sphere as a huge pumpkin face that changed expressions, turning the rounded exterior into a playful, eerie jack-o’-lantern. The story was published on October 31, 2023, and refers to that year’s display. Read Futurism’s account of the 2023 Halloween display.
The image was part of the Sphere’s exterior screen, known as the Exosphere. “Costume” is a figurative description of the animated artwork, not a report of the building being physically dressed up.
Was the same Halloween display shown again?
The available accounts distinguish the 2023 jack-o’-lantern from later seasonal programming. In 2025, Sphere Entertainment and AMC Global Media announced “Sphere of Fear,” described as the venue’s second annual month-long Halloween celebration. The announcement said themed content would begin October 3, appear nightly, and change themes weekly, with bespoke content created by Sphere Studios.
