No. Burger King did not post “We don’t snitch” on its official X account. Burger King PR told Lead Stories on December 10, 2024, that the image was fabricated; Snopes likewise reported finding no record of the post on the company’s account.
What was the “We don’t snitch” post?
It was a screenshot circulated on X on December 9, 2024, purporting to show Burger King commenting on Luigi Mangione’s arrest at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The joke implied that a restaurant employee had alerted authorities to Mangione’s presence. The image was falsely attributed to Burger King; it was not a genuine brand statement. Lead Stories and Snopes addressed the claim on December 10.
Why is the screenshot considered fake?
Burger King denied posting it
As reported by Lead Stories, Burger King PR confirmed by email: “We can confirm that this did not come from the official Burger King X account. This is a fabricated tweet.” Lead Stories did not identify an individual speaker.
The interface labels did not fit a 2024 X post
Lead Stories noted that the screenshot used “Retweets” and “Quote Tweets,” labels that were no longer used after Twitter’s rebrand to X. That inconsistency is evidence against the image being an authentic 2024 post.
