What is the Netflix series about?
Devil May Cry is an animated adaptation of Capcom’s video game franchise. Netflix identifies Adi Shankar as leading the adaptation and Studio Mir as its animation studio. In the first-season setup, Dante is a demon hunter caught up in a threat involving a portal between the human and demon realms. Netflix’s Media Center series page gives the official premise and production details.
The show draws on the games’ characters and world, but it is a television series in its own right. The game connection does not make a game purchase a prerequisite for following the story.

Why the trailer lands for fans
The trailer pairs a recognizable song with a familiar game property, while the series’ premise signals a supernatural action story built around Dante. That combination makes “Last Resort” an immediate hook, but the music identification is only one part of what Netflix has confirmed: the show is a Capcom adaptation with an identified creative lead and animation studio.
