Paris Fashion Week’s womenswear Spring/Summer 2026 shows ran from September 29 to October 7, 2025. The standout looks were not a formally ranked list: they are an editorial selection, with the clearest documented details in the season’s Loewe collection. Its folded shoes, hand-blown glass clutches and vividly treated leather made craft and color part of the silhouette itself.
How to read the season’s standout looks
“Best” here means the looks and design ideas that made a collection visually distinctive, not an objective ranking or a claim about what is easiest to wear. A striking runway image can communicate a house’s direction without establishing that the piece is commercially available or practical for everyday use.
The season also unfolded against pressure to show more. Vogue reported that most runways averaged more than 60 looks, linking the length partly to commercial demands for additional styles and colorways in a difficult retail climate. Separately, Le Monde counted 111 events on the official calendar, describing that tally as a record not seen since 2019. Those figures measure different things: looks presented at shows versus scheduled calendar events.
Loewe: sculptural craft, color and tactile surfaces
Spring/Summer 2026 was Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez’s debut collection for Loewe. The house described it as a collection seen through “clarity, colour and sensual physicality.” That framing suits a lineup where construction and surface treatment were as visually prominent as garment shape.
#1 Best Overall
Folded shoes and paper-plane references
Vogue called out paper-plane shoes, while Loewe’s own craft notes described footwear with origami-like folds. The appeal is in the tension between a recognizable shoe and a sculptural object: the folded construction turns the foot into part of the design rather than a neutral base for the outfit.
Leather and denim with a sharp finish
Vogue highlighted shrunken leather coats and razor-cut denim. Loewe’s official notes also described panelled leather dresses finished with spray-painting techniques. Together, these details set compact, structured shapes against surfaces that look cut, marked or deliberately worked rather than pristine.
Rank #2
Towel dresses and glass clutches
Vogue noted strapless towel dresses, a deliberately familiar and tactile material reference elevated into eveningwear. Loewe’s hand-blown glass clutches offered a contrasting accessory: fragile-looking, sculptural objects that made material and making central to the image.
Vogue interpreted the collection as connecting Loewe’s past and future, and quoted LuxExperience chief business officer Richard Johnson: “They built on what was there before, rather than ripping it up and starting again.” That is a publication’s reading of the collection, not evidence that any runway piece is currently available to buy.

Chanel’s place in the week is clear on the official Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode calendar: the house showed on October 6, 2025. The source material available for this article does not establish specific Chanel garment details, and it does not provide a McQueen-specific look description. It would therefore be misleading to assign either house a silhouette, fabric or color story here.
For a published image shortlist, use licensed collection imagery and verify each image’s house and season. A calendar entry confirms when a show took place; it does not substantiate what a particular look contained.

Loewe’s documented examples show how a collection can make material choices do more than decorate a garment: folded construction changes the shape of footwear, spray-painting alters leather’s surface, and glass turns a clutch into a small sculptural object. The result is memorable as runway design, but visual impact alone does not establish wearability, availability or price.
The wider season’s scale helps explain why individual images matter. With most shows averaging more than 60 looks by Vogue’s account, a strong silhouette or surface treatment can become the clearest shorthand for a collection. The 111-event calendar tally reported by Le Monde offers a separate measure of how crowded the official schedule was.
