Jeff Jarrett says his family’s friendship with Taylor Swift began when both families lived in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He has described Swift as a caring presence in his daughters’ lives during his wife Jill Gregory’s illness and after her death, and confirmed that his daughters appeared in Swift’s “Mine” music video. These are personal recollections Jarrett shared in interviews; the private visits and family gathering he described are not independently documented in the cited accounts.
How did Jeff Jarrett and Taylor Swift know each other?
Jarrett said the families became acquainted after the Swifts moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee. Their homes were about a mile apart, he recalled, and a family relationship developed. In a 2021 interview with NZPWI, he was asked directly, “How do you know Taylor Swift?” His answer described a neighborhood connection, not a professional partnership.
A 2026 report by Wrestling Inc., covering Jarrett’s appearance on “Insight with Chris Van Vliet,” adds that he described the families as connected through Swift’s father, Scott. Jarrett said Swift visited his daughters, including to bake cookies and spend time with them. Those details, too, come from Jarrett’s account.
What did Swift do for Jarrett’s daughters?
Jarrett’s wife, Jill Gregory, was ill with cancer and died in May 2007, according to Entertainment Tonight. In a 2024 interview with WREG, as reported by Entertainment Tonight, Jarrett said Swift spent time with his daughters during Gregory’s illness and remained present after her death. He called her “a friend of the family” and said, “Taylor was like a big sister.”

Jarrett also addressed descriptions of Swift as a babysitter: “I can tell you this right now, she was never on the Jeff Jarrett payroll.” His point was that she was a family friend who helped because she cared, not a paid caregiver. Mick Foley offered a separate, secondhand account in 2024: he wrote that Jarrett had told him Swift took the girls out after Gregory’s death and later became a regular presence. Foley also reproduced a message he attributed to Jarrett: “Her spending quality time , baking cookies, talking, just being there, is what’s special.”
What was the private performance Jarrett recalled?
In a 2025 account of an interview with TMZ Sports, Variety reported Jarrett’s recollection of a family gathering around Christmas 2006, while Gregory was ill. He said what began as a small family visit grew to about 45 people, and that Swift played for roughly three hours. Jarrett recalled, “By the end of the afternoon, Taylor played about three hours.” He described it as an informal family occasion, not a public concert. The precise date and event details are his later recollection, rather than independently verified records.

Were Jarrett’s daughters in Taylor Swift’s “Mine” video?
Yes. In the May 2021 NZPWI interview, Jarrett confirmed that his daughters appeared in Swift’s “Mine” video, released in 2010. Asked whether the story was true, he replied, “That’s actually true.” He said Swift invited his daughter Jaclyn because she looked like a young Taylor; his other children also appeared in different scenes.
The video appearance is the most directly confirmed public element of the story in Jarrett’s 2021 interview. The family visits and private performance are different kinds of claims: they are described in later reporting as Jarrett’s memories, while Foley’s account reflects what Jarrett told him.
