The Kid LAROI’s 20 November 2024 Perth show at RAC Arena had the crowd connection and big singalong moments of an arena concert, but its presentation was uneven. PerthNow’s Kellie Balaam rated it three out of five stars, citing sound and screen problems; X-Press Magazine’s review focused more on the crowd’s energy and the set’s emotional turns.
What happened at RAC Arena
The Kid LAROI performed in Perth on Wednesday, 20 November 2024, as part of the Australian leg of THE FIRST TIME TOUR. The promoter, TEG Live, listed Perth among the November arena dates, alongside the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Hobart and Melbourne. RAC Arena’s announcement classified the Perth event as all ages, a detail about that past show rather than current ticket information.
TEG Live named Quavo and ONEFOUR among the tour guests. X-Press Magazine reports that ONEFOUR opened in Perth; the available Perth reviews do not establish that Quavo performed at this stop. The tour supported THE FIRST TIME, which CommBank Stadium’s August 2024 announcement described as the artist’s debut studio album, with 20 new songs.
How the two reviews differ
The reviews agree that crowd response and performance moments mattered, but they emphasize different parts of the night. PerthNow gives more attention to production shortcomings, while X-Press Magazine foregrounds the audience’s enthusiasm and the show’s emotional moments. These are two critics’ impressions, not a survey of attendees.
#1 Best Overall
- High Fidelity: Hearprotek Music ear plugs do an effective job of bringing down the overall volume, blocking background noises at a comfortable level while preserving the sound clarity and sharpness and you will be able to hear different sound frequencies
- 20 db Noise Reduction: Comes with 2 sets of 20 db ear plugs in different sizes (small & standard), cutting up an impressive 20 db's of sound volume. You can always have your spare plug in case any plugs are fallen out unfortunately or missing
- Designed For Comfort: Made of high quality silicone material that provides comfort from prolonged usage. They are designed to have an ergonomic curved body that follows the shape of your ear canal, which provides a snag and comfortable fit
- Discrete & Portable: Low-profile design with translucent or frosted shells for a discreet look on stage, at concerts, clubs, or the office. Includes a soft silicone detachable cord and comes in a long-lasting aluminum case with a carabiner, making it easy to clip to belts or bags and keep your plugs secure
- Warm Tips: While these earplugs do not block all noise completely, they maintain music quality and keep the volume at a safer level. Not recommended for activities which need high noise reduction level like sleeping, hunting, or shooting
PerthNow: strong moments, uneven production
In PerthNow’s review, Kellie Balaam describes a high-energy performance whose impact was interrupted by production issues. The roving camera feed sometimes failed to appear on the arena’s flanking LED screens, and the reviewer felt the camera operators competed for attention onstage. The same two or three visuals recurred across songs, while speakers and backing music at times overwhelmed LAROI’s voice.
Balaam still notes that fans seemed unfazed and singles out “Love Again,” “Without You” and “Aperol Spritz,” as well as “Stay” at the finale and “Nights Like This” in the encore. Her verdict was three out of five stars: a rating from one reviewer, not a measure of audience opinion.

X-Press Magazine: crowd energy and emotional turns
X-Press Magazine’s account describes a highly engaged crowd during ONEFOUR’s opening set and throughout LAROI’s performance. It identifies “BABY I’M BACK” as the opener and “GIRLS” as a crowd highlight. The review also notes a tribute to Juice WRLD around “GO,” a stripped-back “WHERE DOES YOUR SPIRIT GO?” and “STAY” as the finale.
Set highlights and the show’s emotional core
Across the two accounts, the set moved between newer material and established hits. PerthNow highlights “Love Again,” “Without You,” “Aperol Spritz,” “Stay” and encore song “Nights Like This.” X-Press adds “BABY I’M BACK,” “GIRLS,” “GO” and “WHERE DOES YOUR SPIRIT GO?” The accounts point to “STAY” as the closing high point, though only X-Press explicitly calls it the finale.

- HIGH FIDELITY EAR PLUGS - You may experience muffling when you wear foam-based ones. But those days are gone. You will be able to hear different sound frequencies and talk to people with these HIFI earplugs since they reduce noise evenly and maintain the full frequency.
- ECO-FRIENDLY DESIGN - These hypoallergenic silicone earplugs are washable and reusable, so if you keep them right, they will stay with you for years. In contrast, the Polyurethane foam takes up to 5 years to degrade in nature. So it's cool to have personalized and exclusive silicone earplugs!
- NOISE REDUCTION 23dB - The acoustic filter elements in the ear plug can reduce the volume by 23 dB, which is an ideal value for concerts or band rehearsals. So you can do more of what you love while minimizing the risk of noise-induced hearing loss, tinnitus, and anxiety.
- REURE CAN PROTECT YOU ANYWHERE - The compact case protects your earplugs. You can attach it on your key chain, jeans, or backpack and it can follow you anywhere. Ideal for concerts, noise sensitivity, tinnitus relief, motorcycles, musicians, sports events, flying, sleeping noise cancelling, etc.
- PERFECT FIT GUARANTEE - Every order comes with two pairs of different-sized ear plugs so that you can have the most comfortable experience. If you have any problems when you are using it, please get in touch with our support team to get the best after-sales service 🙂
The emotional contrast in X-Press’s description—especially the Juice WRLD tribute and the stripped-back performance—sits alongside the large-scale crowd participation. PerthNow’s review also recognizes fan engagement, even as it argues that the technical presentation sometimes got in the way of the performance.
What LAROI said about Perth
PerthNow quotes LAROI telling the arena, “This city is beautiful,” and recalling that he had “the best meal of my life” at a Perth restaurant the night before. X-Press transcribes a similar city comment with different wording. The quotation here follows PerthNow’s version rather than combining the two accounts.

Verdict: a compelling concert with visible production flaws
The Perth show’s strongest case, in these reviews, is LAROI’s connection with the crowd and the mix of singalong hits and emotionally direct moments. Its clearest weakness is the staging and sound balance described by PerthNow: recurring visuals, an unreliable camera feed and backing sound that could overpower the lead vocal. Read together, the reviews suggest a night whose performance landed more consistently than its production.
