The available evidence does not establish which twelve wrestlers this title is meant to cover. Without a defined list and cutoff date, naming twelve people would risk presenting expirations, retirements, or other departures as WWE releases.
Why this list cannot yet name twelve people
The title implies a specific set of twelve wrestlers, but no matching source article or roster of names was identified. A third-party 2026 tracker mixes wrestlers with non-wrestling personnel and groups different kinds of departures together, so it cannot serve as a definitive list of twelve released Superstars. The exact-title search and the tracker do not establish the intended names or selection criteria.
WWE’s official Superstars page is a current roster destination, not a historical release archive. A person’s absence from that page is not proof of a release, and it does not establish a departure date, reason, or next destination.
What a reliable list would need to establish
- The twelve names and cutoff date: these determine who is included and whether the article remains current.
- What “released” means: a contract release should be distinguished from a contract expiration or non-renewal, retirement, and other exits.
- Evidence for each departure: attribute it to a WWE announcement, the performer’s public confirmation, or independent reporting. Separate the announcement date from any effective departure date when both are known.
- Confirmed circumstances: do not present speculation about a reason or future promotion as fact.
Roster context is not a release count
TKO Group Holdings’ 2026 annual report says WWE had approximately 215 Superstars under contract as of December 31, 2025; it also describes that roster as coming from more than 25 countries and being approximately 35% female. Those figures describe a dated roster snapshot, not how many people were released or why any individual departed. TKO Group Holdings’ annual report
