The best-documented famous Burnley FC supporters are cricketer Jimmy Anderson, King Charles, NFL player TJ Watt, and author and broadcaster Alastair Campbell. The evidence does not support a reliable six-person ranking or two additional names. NFL star JJ Watt is also linked to Burnley as an investor and stakeholder, a different connection from being identified as a supporter.
Who are Burnley’s best-known documented supporters?
The Premier League’s feature on famous football supporters names four people in its Burnley section: Jimmy Anderson, King Charles, TJ Watt, and Alastair Campbell. It provides additional details about Anderson, but does not give comparable evidence about the other three.
Jimmy Anderson
The Premier League describes the cricketer as a dedicated fan of his hometown club. It reports that Anderson once worked in Burnley’s ticket office and sent the team a video message of support in May 2022. His first cricket club’s ground was behind Turf Moor, and he met his football hero Ian Wright while working at the ticket office. Premier League feature
King Charles
The Premier League lists King Charles among Burnley’s famous fans, but its feature does not explain the origin or extent of his support. The available evidence does not establish regular attendance or a personal connection to the club beyond that identification. Premier League feature

TJ Watt
The Premier League identifies NFL player TJ Watt as a Burnley fan. This is TJ Watt—not his brother JJ Watt, whose connection to the club is described separately below. Premier League feature
Alastair Campbell
The Premier League names author and broadcaster Alastair Campbell among Burnley’s famous fans. The cited feature does not provide a detailed account of his support or a basis for ranking him against the other names. Premier League feature

Why isn’t this a list of six?
“Most famous” has no objective measure here: the available sources do not compare public recognition, attendance, or strength of fandom across individuals. They identify four supporters, with the most detail about Anderson. Adding two more names would imply evidence that is not established. People born in Burnley, former players, or club stakeholders should not automatically be described as supporters.
JJ Watt’s Burnley connection is different
BBC Sport describes JJ Watt as an investor and stakeholder connected with Burnley. That establishes a club investment association, not by itself a history of fandom. He should not be confused with his brother TJ Watt, whom the Premier League identifies as a supporter. BBC Sport on JJ Watt’s Burnley connection
