The title points to a CBR feature published on June 1, 2018, but “officially ranked” does not mean Marvel issued or endorsed a definitive power scale. The surviving excerpts confirm only a few placements—not all 25—so the full ranking cannot be responsibly reproduced. Here is what can be verified and what the title leaves unresolved.
What “officially ranked” means here
“The 25 Most Powerful Avengers Ever, Officially Ranked” appears to be the title of Alex Wyse’s CBR editorial feature from June 1, 2018. The available evidence does not establish that Marvel created or approved a universal ranking of its characters. “Officially” belongs to the headline, not to a verified Marvel power scale.
The feature concerns comic-book Avengers, but its complete scope is unclear: the available material does not specify which continuities it includes or whether it counts temporary enhancements, borrowed abilities, or exceptional cosmic forms. Those choices can substantially change any comparison.
Which CBR placements can be verified?
Search excerpts identifying the CBR feature report three placements. A derivative character-page excerpt reports a fourth, with less confidence.
#1 Best Overall
- THE AVENGERS: United to battle the foes no single hero could withstand, The Avengers is the most powerful Super Hero team in the world.
- THE WORLD'S GREATEST HEROES: Marvel's Avengers Ultimate Protectors pack includes 8 super hero figures: The Hulk, Iron Man, Ant-Man, Black Panther, Captain America, Spider-Man, Marvel's War Machine, and Marvel's Falcon
- POSE AND PLAY: These Marvel toys feature articulated limbs for easy poseability during action-packed playtime, or posing for display
- INCLUDES ACCESSORIES: Set includes 2 character-inspired accessories so kids can imagine even more hero vs. villain battles
- FIND MORE MARVEL ACTION FIGURES: Look for more Marvel action figure sets and feature figures to add to any super hero toy collection. Figures make a great gift for kids and adult fans alike. (Each sold separately. Subject to availability.)
| Character | Reported position | Evidence qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Hyperion | #7 | Attributed to the CBR feature in a search excerpt. |
| Sersi | #8 | Attributed to the CBR feature in a search excerpt. |
| Nova (Richard Rider) | #15 | Attributed to the CBR feature in a search excerpt. |
| She-Hulk | #19 | Reported by a derivative character-page excerpt; lower-confidence than the other placements. |
The original CBR page could not be retrieved, and the available excerpts do not verify the remaining entries. A separate result matching the title shifts between MCU and comic-book framing and contains an inconsistent roster, so it is not a sound basis for filling the gaps.
Why a complete list cannot be reconstructed
A ranking of this kind depends on decisions that the surviving material does not settle: which versions count, what qualifies as an Avenger, and whether a character is judged by typical capabilities or a temporary peak. The available excerpts also do not reveal CBR’s methodology. Assigning names or positions to the unverified slots would turn speculation into an apparent fact.
Rank #2
- Imagine leaping into adventure with Avengers figures, vehicles, and roleplay items inspired by the Marvel Universe
- Includes Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther and Iron Spider
- Connect the Titan Hero Power FX Pack (not included) to operate the figures
Any fresh ranking should make its own rules explicit and apply them consistently. Useful criteria include demonstrated scale of power, durability and survivability, the breadth and reliability of abilities, meaningful combat or battlefield feats, and whether temporary or amplified forms count. These are sensible editorial criteria, not a documented description of CBR’s 2018 method.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is this a current or canonical Marvel ranking?
No. The feature is a 2018 editorial snapshot, and the evidence available here does not make it a current list or a canonical Marvel determination. Readers asking who is the strongest Avenger in the comics should first specify the versions and circumstances they want compared; without that boundary, “most powerful” has no single settled answer.
