The 2025 SAG Awards’ red carpet produced standout looks ranging from sculptural custom couture to archival and re-worn designs. But the exact 25 names promised by this headline cannot be verified from the accessible published lists: Vogue’s U.S. roundup includes 23 looks, while British Vogue’s includes 22. Here are the documented Vogue selections and the stories behind several of the night’s most distinctive outfits.
What can be verified about the 2025 best-dressed lists?
The 31st annual SAG Awards took place on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, according to the Associated Press. “Best dressed” is an editorial designation, not an official award or an objectively measured ranking. Vogue’s U.S. slideshow presented 23 looks in a numbered list and invited readers to vote for their favorites; its coverage characterized the carpet by its risk-taking and theatricality. Vogue’s U.S. roundup is therefore a useful, attributable list, but it does not establish a 25-person ranking.
British Vogue’s slideshow features 22 looks. A search result points to an InStyle story titled “The 25 Best Dressed Celebrities at the 2025 SAG Awards,” but the linked page could not be accessed to verify its names or outfit details. The precise 25 names remain unconfirmed; adding two people to Vogue’s list would be guesswork.

Three standout design stories
Danielle Deadwyler’s sculptural red gown
Vogue reports that Deadwyler wore a custom red Louis Vuitton gown designed by Nicolas Ghesquière and styled by Wayman + Micah. The tiered, three-dimensional construction was paired with red satin heels. Her stylists told Vogue, “The gown took more than 400 hours to complete,” and said they wanted a structural, architectural design that would make Deadwyler stand out on the carpet. That time estimate is specifically about this gown and comes from the stylists, not a general measure of red-carpet dressmaking. Vogue’s report on Deadwyler’s look.

Cynthia Erivo’s archival Givenchy
Erivo wore a silver dress from Givenchy’s fall 1997 collection, designed by Alexander McQueen. Its archival provenance gives the look a different kind of fashion story from a newly made custom gown: the design was drawn from an earlier collection rather than created specifically for the 2025 ceremony. Vogue’s U.S. roundup.
Lily Gladstone’s re-worn Gucci
Gladstone wore a custom Gucci gown previously seen at an Oscars after-party. British Vogue notes that the gown featured intricate quillwork by Indigenous artist Joe Big Mountain. The look combined a repeat wear with a distinctive craft credit. British Vogue’s roundup.

Other looks and details Vogue singled out
- Ariana Grande wore a custom Loewe look in Glinda pink.
- Colman Domingo’s outfit included a cream Valentino blazer.
- Timothée Chalamet wore a western-inspired leather suit by Chrome Hearts.
- Luke Newton wore a bejeweled pin bearing paired male and female symbols; Vogue framed the accessory as a subtle display of solidarity.
These outfits can be compared by construction, tailoring, provenance, reuse, designer credit, and the symbolism attached to an accessory. Those are ways to read the editorial selection, not a scoring system or proof of an official ranking. Vogue’s U.S. roundup.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why the exact “25” remains uncertain
The available published evidence supports a list of 23 looks from Vogue U.S. and 22 from British Vogue—not a verified set of 25. Although a search result identifies an InStyle article with 25 in its title, its contents were not accessible for confirmation. Accordingly, the names above are presented as Vogue’s documented selection, not as the complete or definitive 25 best-dressed guests at the ceremony.
