There is no authoritative, complete ranking of the ten rarest cars Elvis Presley owned. The list below is an editorial selection of documented cars associated with him, ordered by the strength of their model-level scarcity evidence and distinctive provenance—not by a single, comparable rarity score. “Rare” can mean a low production run, a documented connection to Elvis, or an unusual place in his story; those are different measures. Only the BMW 507 has a production figure established in the sources cited here.

How to read this list

Graceland identifies cars on display and highlights from its automobile collection, but its visitor and archive pages do not establish a complete inventory of every car Elvis owned or an official rarity ranking. The museum opened on June 12, 1989; in a 2014 anniversary account, Graceland said it then held more than 20 cars. That dated figure describes the exhibit at the time, not the total number of cars Elvis owned or the current exhibit count. Graceland’s Presley Motors Automobile Museum visitor page and 2014 anniversary account name highlights, rather than a ranked inventory.

The order below gives first place to the car with the clearest model-production evidence, then considers Elvis-specific provenance and cultural significance. Where a production figure or exact vehicle identification is not established by the cited material, the entry says so rather than implying a measurable rarity.

The 10 cars

1. BMW 507, chassis 70079

This is the strongest choice for first place if “rare” means limited model production: BMW Middle East reported that 254 BMW 507s were built from 1955 through 1959. That is a production total, not a count of surviving cars. BMW also identifies the example associated with Elvis as chassis 70079 and says he took delivery on December 20, 1958, while stationed in Germany. The car later returned to its original Feather White appearance after uncertainty over its identity and ownership. See BMW Group PressClub USA’s account of Elvis’s BMW 507 and BMW Middle East’s BMW 507 history.

2. 1973 Stutz Blackhawk III

Its strongest claim to distinction is personal provenance, not a documented production total. Graceland describes the 1973 Blackhawk III as Elvis’s favorite car and the last automobile he drove in public. Elvis’s last public drive in it was on August 16, 1977, according to Graceland’s account. The car was restored and returned to the Elvis Presley Automobile Museum; Graceland says it entrusted Pontiac collector and restorer Walt Hollifield with returning it to the condition it was in when Elvis last drove it.

Graceland’s history says Elvis bought his first Blackhawk in 1970 for $26,500 and acquired three more by 1974. It says the 1973 car was acquired through a GM lease agreement after a $20,000 deposit. These are details from Graceland’s account, not independently established production figures. Read Graceland’s history of the 1973 Stutz Blackhawk III.

3. 1956 Cadillac Eldorado convertible

Graceland names the 1956 Cadillac Eldorado convertible among the cars highlighted by its automobile museum. That makes the specific model and its place in the collection documented, but the material cited here does not give a production total for Elvis’s example or a surviving-car count. Its standing on this list rests on its confirmed association and museum presentation, not a claim that it outranks other cars by production scarcity.

4. 1975 Dino Ferrari

Graceland identifies a 1975 Dino Ferrari as a museum highlight. The cited visitor and anniversary descriptions do not establish a more specific Dino model designation, a production figure for the exact model, or a detailed ownership history for this particular car. It is therefore a documented collection highlight, but its precise model-level rarity cannot be ranked from those descriptions alone.

5. Red MG from Blue Hawaii

Graceland’s anniversary account identifies the red MG from Blue Hawaii among the museum’s highlights. The film association gives it a distinctive cultural connection, but it does not by itself show that the car was scarce when new or that few examples survive. Graceland’s account supports the association; it does not provide a production or survivor count for this car.

6. The Pink Cadillac

The Pink Cadillac is one of the best-known cars associated with Elvis and a named Graceland museum highlight. Fame is not the same as rarity: the cited Graceland material does not establish a low production run or a count of surviving examples for Elvis’s car. Graceland also explains that a separate decorative car outside the museum was repainted blue after visitors mistook it for the real Pink Cadillac—a reminder to distinguish the museum vehicle from lookalikes.

  • 1/24 Scale Diecast Model Car

7. Mercedes-Benz limousine

Graceland’s current visitor information lists a Mercedes-Benz limousine among its collection highlights. The cited page does not specify the exact model, year, production total, or identifying details for the example, so it supports the car’s place in the exhibit rather than a precise rarity claim.

8. Rolls-Royce sedans

Graceland names Rolls-Royce sedans among the collection highlights. The source does not identify a particular Elvis-owned sedan or give a model-specific production number for one. The plural reference confirms the marque’s presence in the museum description, but it is not enough to rank an individual Rolls-Royce by scarcity.

9. 1971 Pantera

A 2017 Graceland article about a museum video calls the 1971 Pantera one of Elvis’s stylish cars. That supports its inclusion as a documented car associated with the collection, but the article does not provide a model production figure or detailed provenance for the example. It is a weaker rarity case than the BMW 507, whose production and chassis history are specifically documented. See Graceland’s 2017 look inside Elvis’s cars.

10. 1956 Lincoln Continental

The same 2017 Graceland article identifies the 1956 Lincoln Continental among Elvis’s stylish cars. The cited material does not establish a production figure for the specific version or provenance details for the individual car, so its inclusion reflects Graceland’s association rather than a verified low production count.

What can—and cannot—be called Elvis’s rarest car?

On the evidence available here, the BMW 507 is the clearest answer when rarity means a documented, limited model run: BMW gives a 254-unit production figure for 1955–1959 and ties chassis 70079 directly to Elvis. That does not establish how many survive today. If the question instead means the car with the most singular personal story, the 1973 Stutz Blackhawk III has Graceland’s strong distinction of being Elvis’s favorite and his last car driven in public. Neither definition produces an official top ten.

Graceland’s exhibits also illustrate why a museum list should not be mistaken for an ownership ledger. Its visitor page names a Stutz Blackhawk, 1956 Cadillac Eldorado, Dino Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz limousine, Rolls-Royce sedans, and more; its dated anniversary account includes the Pink Cadillac and red MG from Blue Hawaii. Graceland’s archives page describes its preservation and cataloging work, but the pages cited here do not claim to be a complete, ranked vehicle inventory.
