The clearest documented example is 50 Cent’s 2003 purchase of Mike Tyson’s former Connecticut mansion for a reported $4.1 million. The available evidence also supports a few other notable purchases or commissions—not a verified list of ten. Here are the examples that can be attributed, with a clear distinction between what rappers bought and what they merely featured or discussed.
Why this is not a verified top-ten list
A “most ridiculous” ranking needs more than expensive objects associated with a rapper: it needs evidence that the person actually bought or commissioned the item, plus a reliable price when the list compares costs. The documented examples here are limited. In particular, expensive goods shown on a television segment are not proof that its host purchased them.
50 Cent’s former Mike Tyson mansion
Forbes reported in 2003 that 50 Cent bought Mike Tyson’s former mansion in Farmington, Connecticut, for $4.1 million. The house was described as roughly 50,000 square feet with 52 rooms, including five Jacuzzis and a movie theater. Its scale and amenities make it the standout documented purchase in this group. Forbes’ 2003 report
Forbes later reported that 50 Cent sold the property for $2.9 million in 2019, after years on and off the market. The later account described 25 bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, and extensive entertainment features. Those two sale figures alone do not establish his overall profit or loss: they do not account for renovation, carrying, or transaction costs. Forbes’ 2019 report

50 Cent’s luxury vehicles and customizations
A 2013 Forbes profile recounted vehicles associated with 50 Cent. It said he bought a Lamborghini Murciélago after the launch of his second album and had it painted chrome; it also listed a Ferrari convertible, a Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle, and a Bentley Mulsanne. The same retrospective named a Toyota Land Cruiser, bought in 1994, as his first vehicle, followed by a Mercedes-Benz 400 SEL. These are historical examples reported in that profile, not evidence of what he owns today. Forbes’ 2013 profile
Busta Rhymes’s diamond Cuban chain
Complex reported in 2023 that Busta Rhymes commissioned a custom chain from TraxNYC. The jeweler was the source for the specifications: a 54mm Cuban chain described as fully iced with more than 10,000 diamonds. Complex did not establish a verified price, so the chain’s cost should not be guessed. The article also reported Rhymes’ praise for its craftsmanship, but that reaction does not verify a dollar value. Complex’s report

Expensive things 2 Chainz showed—not purchases to attribute to him
GQ’s Most Expensivest featured 2 Chainz inspecting and evaluating costly products. A retrospective describes him sorting some items into things he would and would not buy; appearing on the show is not evidence that he owned them. GQ’s retrospective
One GQ segment featured diamond-covered shoes with a stated asking price of $2 million. The page says 2 Chainz would not buy them at that price. They are an eye-catching example of an expensive product, but not one of his purchases. GQ’s shoe segment

Likewise, GQ’s On the Rocks page shows 2 Chainz discussing his jewelry collection but does not establish an extravagant price for an individual piece. GQ’s jewelry segment VICE’s profile of Berco’s Popcorn describes popcorn with edible gold flakes and gives a price for the product at the time; it does not show that a rapper bought it. On the evidence available, 50 Cent’s mansion is the strongest answer: the purchase itself and its reported price are documented, and the house’s reported size gives the claim context. The chain is a documented commission, but its price is unknown. The vehicle details are historical reporting, while the diamond shoes and other show products should not be counted as rapper purchases.
