How Strands hints work
Strands is a themed word-search puzzle. You trace words through letters that touch vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. The spangram expresses the theme and connects opposite sides of the grid. Finding three valid words that are not puzzle answers earns an in-game hint that highlights letters in an unsolved answer, according to a 2026 paper in LIPIcs FUN.
