Contemporary PerthNow stories put the crowd at about 45,000 and, in a separate follow-up review, described it as a reportedly sold-out 50,000—different reported figures, not a confirmed attendance total.
What happened at Optus Stadium?
Swift’s Perth concert was the Australian-leg opener of the Reputation Stadium Tour. The show’s scale was central to contemporary coverage: PerthNow described pyrotechnics, large screens, several stages, dancers and backing singers, along with snake imagery in the staging. Audience members received light-up wristbands that added a coordinated visual effect across the stadium. PerthNow’s concert report captured the production as a deliberately large-scale event.
Charli XCX was named as a support act by PerthNow. A separate contemporary gig review also lists Broods alongside Charli XCX as opening acts. The Music’s review provides that broader bill listing.
How many people attended?
The contemporary reports do not settle on one attendance figure. PerthNow’s 19 October report said about 45,000 people turned out; its 20 October follow-up called the crowd a reportedly sold-out 50,000. Neither wording establishes an independently confirmed venue count, so the estimates should remain attributed to their respective stories.

What did Swift perform?
The set leaned heavily on Reputation, the album at the centre of the tour, while bringing earlier material into the show through medleys and acoustic performances. The PerthNow review names a medley of “Style,” “Love Story” and “You Belong With Me.” It also describes “Delicate” performed above the crowd in a carriage, a more intimate moment set against the larger spectacle.
The mix gave the concert two distinct modes: imposing stadium production for the tour’s newer material and more stripped-back passages for songs from earlier in Swift’s catalogue. The album’s connection to the tour is the relevant context for listeners exploring Reputation; the concert coverage does not establish any particular CD edition or current availability.

What did contemporary reviewers make of the show?
The first PerthNow report was strongly positive about the visual scale and impact. Its follow-up review offered a more qualified assessment: it noted sound delays and acoustic issues at the stadium and argued that the heavy focus on Reputation left too little room for more of Swift’s back catalogue. The same reviewer praised particular production sequences and acoustic moments. Those are the reviewer’s judgments, not evidence of a settled audience consensus.
PerthNow also quoted Swift telling the crowd, “We are so happy to be here with you. You set the bar for how crazy fans can be.” The remark reflected the welcome she gave Perth fans during the tour’s Australian opening night.

Why the concert stands out in the tour’s Perth story
The Optus Stadium date brought together the tour’s defining contrast: a highly engineered, arena-scale visual show and brief performances designed to feel closer to the audience. The crowd estimates remain inconsistent across local coverage, while the details of the staging and the set-list balance show why the event drew both praise for its scale and criticism over sound and song selection.
