What conspiracy claims circulated?
After the Chiefs qualified for Super Bowl LVIII, posts and commentators linked Swift’s relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and her expected appearance at the game to several political and sports conspiracies. The claims included that her public profile was part of a Pentagon psychological operation, that the relationship was staged to influence the 2024 election in Joe Biden’s favor, and that the NFL championship was rigged or scripted. The Associated Press and Factchequeado described the claims as baseless or unsupported in their coverage (Associated Press; Factchequeado).
Alleged Pentagon operation
Factchequeado reported that Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh told Forbes: “Taylor Swift no es parte de una operación psicológica del Departamento de Defensa”—“Taylor Swift is not part of a Department of Defense psychological operation.” This is a denial relayed by Factchequeado, not a direct Pentagon document reviewed here (Factchequeado, February 9, 2024).
Staged relationship and election influence
Some versions of the theory treated Swift and Kelce’s relationship as staged and suggested her Super Bowl appearance would be used to boost Biden. The reviewed fact-checking and news coverage did not substantiate those allegations. The reporting documents that the claims circulated; it does not independently establish every private aspect of the couple’s relationship (Associated Press; Factchequeado).

Rigged or scripted game
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell rejected the idea that the championship was predetermined. BBC Sport quoted him on February 6, 2024: “The idea that this is within a script, this is pre-planned, is just nonsense. It’s frankly not even worth talking about” (BBC Sport).
Goodell’s statement records the league’s response; it is not an independent forensic audit of game integrity or officiating. The cited coverage supports saying the conspiracy claims were unsupported, not making a broader claim that every conceivable question about NFL games has been independently investigated.

Could Swift travel from Tokyo to the Super Bowl in time?
Yes. Swift performed in Tokyo shortly before the February 11 game in Las Vegas. The time difference helped make the schedule feasible: Japan was 17 hours ahead of Pacific Time, according to NFL.com (NFL.com).
The public itinerary became clearer in stages. On February 10, the Associated Press reported that Swift had arrived in Los Angeles from Tokyo, while her onward transportation had not yet been revealed. NFL.com later reported that she arrived in Las Vegas. The AP update reflected what was known at that point, not the final destination report (Associated Press, February 10, 2024; NFL.com).

What the evidence does—and does not—show
The reports establish that the allegations circulated, that fact-checking coverage characterized their central claims as unsupported, and that Singh and Goodell publicly rejected key versions of them. The travel reporting also documents Swift’s arrival in Los Angeles and subsequent arrival in Las Vegas. It does not provide a comprehensive investigation of the relationship or a technical audit of NFL game integrity.
