Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is Quentin Tarantino’s unrated, combined version of Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. Its U.S. theatrical release began December 5, 2025, so it is no longer an upcoming theater release. The main changes are a continuous presentation without the split-volume cliffhanger and recap, plus added animated material. Fandango lists the 70mm presentation at 4 hours 35 minutes.
What is The Whole Bloody Affair?
Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair joins Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 into one unrated feature. Lionsgate describes it as the complete version, presented in 4K and Dolby Vision for its Collector’s Edition, and says it includes a new anime sequence. Lionsgate Limited’s 4K listing identifies the edition as the complete unrated version.
The combined cut was screened at Cannes in 2006, according to The Guardian. The 2025 release was its wide theatrical release, rather than its first-ever screening.
What changed from the two-volume release?
The story plays as one continuous feature
The combined version removes the original Vol. 1 cliffhanger ending and the recap opening of Vol. 2, which were part of the experience of watching the films as separate volumes. The transition now belongs within one feature rather than marking a break between two releases, as GamesRadar+ reports.
#1 Best Overall
- Quentin Tarantino's KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR unites Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 into a single, unrated epic—complete with a new anime sequence.
There is additional animated material
GamesRadar+ describes a previously unseen animated sequence lasting seven and a half minutes. That is a specific reported addition, not evidence of a complete scene-by-scene overhaul. The available reporting does not establish an exhaustive list of every changed shot or edit.
The theatrical presentation included a post-credits chapter
The Guardian reports that the 2025 theatrical presentation included “The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge” after the credits. That detail is confirmed for the theatrical presentation; it should not be assumed to apply to every home-media edition.

How long is the 70mm version?
Fandango lists the 70mm theatrical presentation at 4 hours 35 minutes. Runtime listings can depend on format and on whether an intermission is counted, so that figure applies to the 70mm listing rather than establishing the running time of every version or screening.
The headline’s “4-hour” description is therefore a shorthand: the published 70mm runtime is longer than four hours. Fandango lists the U.S. theatrical release date as December 5, 2025; current showtimes are not established here.
