“Stop The Rain” pairs EPIK HIGH’s Tablo with BTS’ RM in a song about hardship that returns, the effort to endure it, and the wish to be done living through it. Tablo called the track hopeful, but its title is not a promise that suffering can simply be stopped. The single and its music video arrived on May 2, 2025.
What is Tablo and RM’s “Stop The Rain” about?
Tablo uses rain as an image for the hard parts of being young: difficulty passes, bringing a sense of having overcome something, but it can return. In his interview with Yoon Haein for Weverse Magazine, Tablo said, “A rainy day feels like the perfect image for expressing the hard parts of being young.” He added, “It rains, then it stops, then the sun comes out and you feel like you’ve overcome something. But it’ll always rain again.”
That cycle gives the title its tension. “Stop The Rain” expresses the desire to stop living through recurring hardship, rather than claiming that pain can be permanently switched off. Tablo connected the imagery to a longer creative vocabulary in EPIK HIGH’s work and said he saw an emotional resonance with RM’s music.
Despite the weight of the subject, Tablo described the song as hopeful: “It’s actually a hopeful song.” He connected that hope to the artists’ strength and their ability to offer support. The idea is endurance and solidarity, not a guarantee that difficult experiences will never return.

How did Tablo and RM make the song?
Tablo said the song had been in progress for more than two years before its release. He sent RM tracks, and RM responded to a rough demo and to the idea of writing about rain. Their work developed through extensive conversation and revision.
Tablo described an unusually close collaboration for him. He and RM discussed the sequence and emotional movement of the verses, revising lines so the performances would feel like a dialogue. Tablo said RM challenged him to cut lines that interrupted the flow. He recalled exchanging hundreds of messages about the song; that is his informal description of their process, not a verified count.

Why did Tablo wait to release “Stop The Rain”?
Tablo said the lyrics felt intensely personal, and he worried about putting RM’s words out while RM was away completing military service and unable to speak for the song. He described feeling as if he were holding someone else’s diary. In a May 1, 2025 interview by Jae-Ha Kim reproduced in a PDF, Tablo said, “I didn’t want him to be harmed in any way.”
