Wendy Williams was taken by ambulance from an assisted-living facility in Midtown Manhattan to Mount Sinai West on the morning of March 10, 2025. The reports described a wellness check and hospital evaluation, not a newly reported October 2026 emergency. The available sources do not establish Williams’s current health status.
What happened on March 10, 2025?
ABC News reported that police responded after the fire department was called to Williams’s assisted-living facility for a wellness check. A source briefed on the situation told the outlet that the 911 call concerned a woman in distress. ABC said Williams was calm when officers arrived, was not restrained, and walked into the ambulance on her own. She was taken to Mount Sinai West.
ABC characterized the police response as a standard call for service and reported that there was no ongoing NYPD investigation. Fox News separately reported an NYPD statement that officers had responded to a welfare check and EMS had transported a 60-year-old woman to a nearby hospital for evaluation; Fox identified the woman as Williams in its account.
What did Williams say about going to the hospital?
In a report published the next day, Fox News attributed this statement to Williams during a March 11 appearance on The Breakfast Club: “The police showed up. I’m exhausted. I wanted to go to the hospital to talk to the doctor.” That account presents her stated reason for seeking evaluation; it does not identify a clinical diagnosis or establish what prompted the call.

What did she say about the assisted-living facility?
In its March 10 coverage, ABC News quoted Williams describing the floor where she lived as “the memory unit” and saying, “Look, I don’t belong here at all. This is ridiculous.” These are her attributed remarks about her residence, not a medical explanation for the ambulance trip.
What health information had been disclosed?
ABC News reported that a February 2024 release from Williams and her medical team said she had been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia in 2023. That disclosure provides background, but the available reports do not establish that either condition caused the March 10, 2025 hospital transport.

Fox News also reported that Williams’s caretaker, Ginalisa Monterrosa, said Williams had undergone two competency evaluations and passed both. This is the caretaker’s account as reported by Fox; the article does not present clinical records independently confirming the evaluations.

The reporting cited here documents the March 2025 transport and statements made around it. It does not establish Williams’s current medical condition as of October 8, 2026. The March 2025 event should therefore not be presented as a new 2026 health crisis.
