This is a subjective ranking of characters across the Strike the Blood anime, not an official list and not a claim about who is strongest. It weighs importance to the central story, development, relationships and influence, and the distinctiveness of each character’s role. The ranking draws on the anime’s full five-installment run, so it includes major later-story spoilers. The series began as Gakuto Mikumo’s Dengeki Bunko light novels; Warner Bros. Japan’s premise centers on Fourth Primogenitor Kojou Akatsuki and Sword Shaman Yukina Himeragi, sent to observe him and act if necessary (Warner Bros. Japan).
How this ranking works
“Best” here means the most compelling overall presence in the story, not the highest combat power or a popularity poll. Placements balance narrative importance, character development, relationships, and how memorable or unusual a character’s function is. The anime’s installments are Strike the Blood, II, III, IV, and V, as listed by Warner Bros. Japan. The novels extend the source story, so this is not a definitive ranking of every development in print.
The 10 best Strike the Blood characters
10. Motoki Yaze
Yaze earns a place for the way he connects everyday school life to Itogami Island’s hidden power struggles. His ties to Kojou’s circle give him a useful vantage point on the supernatural conflicts without making him another version of the central fighter. He is less emotionally foregrounded than the top-ranked characters, but his role helps make the larger setting feel interconnected.
9. Kiriha Kisaki
Kiriha brings a different kind of tension to the cast: she is an agent shaped by duties and allegiances beyond Kojou’s immediate group. That makes her memorable as a source of friction and uncertainty, rather than simply a companion. She ranks below the core cast because the story’s emotional center is less dependent on her.

8. Shizuri Castiella Kasugaya
Shizuri stands out for adding a distinct presence to the series’ expanding circle of powerful and politically connected characters. She contributes to the sense that Itogami’s conflicts have consequences beyond the school and its familiar relationships. Her comparatively narrower place in the central ensemble keeps her from climbing higher.
7. Avrora Florestina
Avrora’s importance is bound closely to the mystery and legacy surrounding the Fourth Primogenitor. Her presence gives the series a personal and historical dimension that raw displays of power cannot supply. She is a consequential figure even when the story’s attention is elsewhere, and that lingering significance earns her this spot.

- Naruto Uzumaki, as seen in "NARUTO: Shippuden," rejoins S.H.Figuarts with all new joint technology
- [Set Contents] Main Body, Three left and four right optional hands, Four optional expressions, Kunai, "Rasengan" effect, Crossed arm parts
- Stands approximately 5.5" tall
- The product box will have a Bandai Namco warning label, which is proof that you are purchasing an officially licensed product
6. Nagisa Akatsuki
Nagisa matters because she brings warmth and family stakes into a story often driven by supernatural danger. As Kojou’s younger sister, she helps show what his responsibilities mean in ordinary life and gives his protectiveness a personal center. Her importance is not measured by how often she takes part in a fight; it lies in the relationships and vulnerabilities she makes visible.
5. Sayaka Kirasaka
Sayaka’s sharp-edged personality and disciplined role make her a welcome counterpoint to characters whose loyalties are easier to read. Her relationships—particularly the ways she reacts to Yukina and Kojou—give her more texture than a straightforward rival or ally. She is distinctive in a crowded cast, even if the story ultimately revolves more tightly around the main pair.

4. La Folia Rihavein
La Folia brings political authority, confidence, and a playful ability to unsettle the people around her. She changes the tone of scenes without losing sight of the broader stakes, and her royal position gives the series another route into questions of power and responsibility. Her strong screen presence makes her one of the most memorable supporting characters.
3. Asagi Aiba
Asagi is the cast member who most clearly links Kojou’s supernatural life to the island’s modern, connected world. Her intelligence and technical skills give her a role that is meaningfully different from the series’ combat-focused characters. Just as important, her history and closeness to Kojou create emotional tension that exists independently of the latest threat.

2. Yukina Himeragi
Yukina is the story’s clearest counterweight to Kojou: she begins with a specific mission to watch him and use force if necessary, then has to reconcile that assignment with trust, friendship, and the reality of the person beside her. Her combat role is distinctive, but her changing understanding of duty is what makes her compelling. Warner Bros. Japan places her at the heart of the official premise, and the anime repeatedly returns to the bond between her and Kojou.
1. Kojou Akatsuki
Kojou takes the top spot because the series’ central contradictions meet in him. He is the Fourth Primogenitor, a figure associated with extraordinary danger, but his choices are consistently framed through his ties to friends, family, and the people who depend on him. That contrast gives the action its emotional stakes and connects the many allies and challengers around him. His strength is part of the premise; it is not, by itself, the reason he ranks first.

Is this also a strongest-character ranking?
No. Combat power and “best character” are different questions. This list prioritizes narrative role, development, relationships, and distinctiveness; it does not establish a power scale or claim that the characters appear in the same order by strength. A strength ranking would need explicit criteria such as demonstrated feats and the point in the story being compared.
Where to continue with the series
The light novels are the source material for the anime. Warner Bros. Japan reported 25 volumes in the main series as of March 2023; that is a dated figure, not a statement about current stock or availability (Warner Bros. Japan). Reading the novels is not required to enjoy the anime, but they are the direct route for readers who want more of the source franchise. Crunchyroll has a Strike the Blood listing; a listing does not establish current availability in every region, so check your local catalog.
