What happens in Episode 1?
Warner Bros. Japan’s official Episode 1 synopsis begins with Harley Quinn and the Joker committing crimes together. After Harley goes on a rampage with her partner-in-crime, she is sent to Belle Reve Penitentiary. Amanda Waller then selects her for a top-secret mission beyond her familiar world.
The assignment places Harley alongside Peacemaker and other super-villains, including Deadshot and Clayface. The episode’s premise shifts the team from Gotham and Belle Reve into a fantasy setting. The series overview describes that realm as a place of swords and magic, with orcs and dragons.
There is a small distinction in the official descriptions: Episode 1’s synopsis names Harley, Peacemaker, Deadshot and Clayface in Waller’s selection, while the broader series synopsis also names King Shark as part of the assembled group. The wider team description should not be mistaken for the episode synopsis’s specific list.

How the premiere sets up the series

Warner Bros. Japan identifies Suicide Squad ISEKAI as an original animation from Japan, with WIT STUDIO handling animation production. DC describes it as a 2024 original anime series featuring its characters. Those credits place the fantasy crossover within a new animated series, not an adaptation identified as a particular comic storyline.

Who made the series?
Warner Bros. Japan’s official series credits list Eri Osada as director, with Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara credited for the screenplay. Akira Amano provided the character design draft, and Naoto Hosoda is credited for character design. Other listed roles include Masakazu Miyake (art director), Miyuki Kowata (color setting), Yang Xiaomu (photography direction), Akari Saito (editing), Jin Aketagawa (sound director) and Kenichiro Suehiro (music).
The opening song is credited to Tomoyasu Hotei and the ending song to Mori Calliope. Warner Bros. is listed as producer in the Japanese page’s credit block. The publisher announced on June 21, 2024, that the opening sequence had been released ahead of streaming, alongside announcements about additional villains, voice actors, the Episode 1 synopsis and still cuts.

Episode 1 release and where to look for it
Warner Bros. Japan’s schedule describes a ten-episode series. Episodes 1–3 were scheduled for June 27, 2024, followed by weekly releases through Episode 10 on August 15, 2024. The same historical schedule lists Max and Hulu for the United States; ANIPLUS and LAFTEL for Korea; ADN for France; HBO GO for Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong; Anime Time for India; and ANiME GENERATION for Italy.
Those entries record the announced schedule, not a guarantee that the series is in a platform’s current catalog or available under the same access terms today. Check the service’s listing in your region before subscribing or searching for a particular episode. Apple TV also has an Episode 1 listing, but that listing alone does not establish availability in every country or subscription tier.
