What are the three Duffer Brothers Netflix shows?
The three projects are distinct series, not three new seasons or continuations of Stranger Things. Netflix’s guide describes one wedding-centered horror series, one animated story set in the Stranger Things world, and one supernatural drama about residents of a New Mexico retirement community.

Which series is actually connected to Stranger Things?
Only Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 is set in that universe. Netflix describes it as an animated series taking place between the second and third seasons. Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen centers on a wedding, while The Boroughs follows a group in a New Mexico retirement community; neither is presented as a Stranger Things continuation.

What role do the Duffers have in each project?
Their credits vary. Netflix’s guide identifies the Duffer Brothers as executive producers on Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen and The Boroughs. On Tales From ’85, the guide says they are attached and names Eric Robles as showrunner. It does not call the brothers the showrunners or creators of all three series.
The guide attributes comments about the projects jointly to “the Duffer Brothers,” without identifying which brother spoke. About Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, they praised Haley Z. Boston’s script and described her as a new talent with a distinctive voice. Of The Boroughs, they said its older heroes are a lovable group of misfits and described the adventure as scary, funny and touching.

Are the Duffer Brothers leaving Netflix for Paramount?
Paramount announced on August 19, 2025, a four-year exclusive deal with Matt and Ross Duffer covering feature films, television and streaming projects. The announcement said it would start after their existing Netflix deal ended in April 2026. That stated start point is now past, but the announcement by itself does not confirm the deal’s implementation or establish what projects the brothers have made under it.

- For wedding-centered horror: start with Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, created and showrun by Haley Z. Boston, with the Duffers among its executive producers.
- For another story in the Stranger Things universe: look for the animated Tales From ’85, set between seasons 2 and 3 and showrun by Eric Robles.
- For supernatural drama outside that universe: consider The Boroughs, about residents of a desert retirement community, created and showrun by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews.
